SHOPS TO INSTALL OBX HEADERS & Y-PIPE

I was thinking of purchasing one from Ebay..

I also know how much of a pain they are. But does anyone know of a shop that can install these things for a good price and understands how to do it?

I also know they dont fit perfectly so i'm looking for a shop or hell.. even someone that knows how to install them and knows how to fix the 02 sensor problems.. maybe welding bungs or what not..

I called Frank at hills, but he's charging 8 hours of labor... just seems alot to me.

Any information would be awesome..

i looked on how to do it.. but i just dont have time nor the tools... would rather just have it done...

PS... the exhaust.. i see their a few out there.. but i like the HKS.. and it has the dual tip but i think its only an axle back... anybody know of a the b-pipe?

Not exactly sure where you're located. Call Tony's Custom Exhaust Not sure what they would charge you for headers but its worth a shot. I've had some small things done there.

tru, cant always trust those reviews. Everyone that I know who has had work done there hasn't had any complaints. Good luck with your search.

Contact Asian Imports. I dont have any personal experience but they have done a few cars here. Owners seem happy though.

Thanks So much for the info folks..

As yall know that i have my turbo s2k... but, i finally got the maxima back and i have big plans... alot of things are gonna be ordered tomorrow and the car is under going a nice transformation..

I'm doing what i always wanted to do with my other 2002 maxima that never happened. i have a wonderful chance now and because of the family in the community, i wanna finish what i started....

Chu helped me SO much with my stereo and guiding me over the phone and never hesitated on helping me whenever i needed it... now my whole system is installed from cd player, to speakers, to amp to my 12 in the trunk.

But after the looks... i wanna do performance and the first thing would the be the headers and ypipe because well.. thats the hardest part lol... cattman doesnt have the cat back... so i want the hks axle back but i need to find a pipe to meet from the cat to the axle. guess i can have a pipe made with a nice 18 inch resonator.

Anywhooo....i'll be updating as i go...

Today? stereo complete...

tomolo.. i took off work.. installing brand new shocks and mounts...

more to come.

wait wat? lol they have not been proven that they hold up just yet? or they have not been proven to fail? lol

I heard there was a huge difference between the 3.0 headers and the 3.5 headers.. how i dont know..

OH here is another question..

EXHAUST...i heard the Greddy evo 2 and it sounded good on you tube.. but my preference is the HKS axle back.

is it possible to buy a cheap cat back from ebay, NOT use the axle back, and just bolt the hks that that exaust?

what worries me is the axle back dont all fit the same..

Should i just my stock? does it flow enough to add an axle back?

they havent proven to be weak yet... its all on how u drive the car man... best fitment is cattman so if you are worried about that then just call up brian... seeing that you are doing none of the work then it dont matter, asian imports installed datdude20 and phantomV's headers ( OBX ).... both will prolly cost u the same price for installation... again durability can be argued on both cattman and OBX

Gotcha..

well lets just put it this way.. i find when i drive the maxima... its more cruising.. but sometimes i'll floor it for the straight line just to get going or something... but other than that... i just want it there when i need it... and when i say "need" it really means want hahahaha

i wonder if the megan catback would sound good with the OBX headers/ypipe combo... i dont want it TOO loud.. but a nice rumble would be nice.

Hey Chunny

i just spoke with kurtis... he said they make exhausts.. he said he recommends the magnaflow over the borla... said it flows better and sounds better and isnt as loud..

he said to drive the car up and have him look at it and get a price qoute..

i may do so...if not.. i'll prolly just stick with the Megan Cat back.. its like 350 Shipped so thats probably gonna be cheaper than custome i'm assuming.. but i could be wrong.

man seriously do the custom, it will flow better and the magnaflow sounds the best... seriously, many here have gone there before...just like with the headers if you gonna do it pay the extra couple dollars and get the ones that last and do it right the FIRST TIME...

I was wondering the samething, im assuming it's the egr port and the unequel length in the 3.0 is all. ive been trying to figure out if the 3.5 headers have larger primaries and produce more power than the 3.0 headers. if they don't then i can't see spending the extra on them

i personally would spend the extra on them.... just because of fitment... the 3.5's fit perfectly... every time i went to install the 3.0 ones there always was something that had to be corrected.... ex. where the front header meets the y its always a inch or so off.... 3.5, no problems w. that.
