Need Metro help

I have a meeting at 800K firest thing Tuesday morning, meaning that my vacation gets delayed until after the meeting. I am planning to take the train (MARC) to Union, then the metro to Chinatown (Verizon center).

After the meeting, my wife is picking me up at a metro station to head out to the eastern shore to meet up with family.

I think I will be out of my meeting between 3-5 PM, and we want the easiest access from 270 or 495. We also want to be as far to the East as possible, without me making her drive into a "bad" part of the area. I don't know the MD side of the metro- suggestions? She knows the Rockville station and I usually just go to shady grove. I had a suggestion of New Carrolton, but my mother in law says it is a bad area.

Suggestions?

Damn, I would have suggested Springfield where I could meet you around 5ish, but I have a volleyball tournament semifinal match at 530 in Anacostia.....sorry mon.

New carrollton is not a bad area at all especially during the day. Plus it'll put you on 50 at the beltway. With marc metro and greyhound at the station safety shouldn't be a concern if not for anything but volume of people.

New Carrollton is about as easterly & safe as you're gonna get for Metro, plus routes 50 & 495 as mentioned above.
