StealerShip...The Start of the RipOff!

Guys & Gals (if there are some Gals),

I need your help. I know I have been MIA for sometime, and I am not going to make any excuses. Getting to the point I went to the dealership for reasons of excessive oil burn-off. They as usual change my oil and asked me to drive for 1K miles then return the vehicle to the dealership a.k.a Oil consumption test. Well I returned my vehicle and they said that in 1095 miles I consumed only 3/4 quarter of oil... O that's it?! Yeah they said that was normal!!! I have just under 90K miles on the car and that kind of burn off in my opinion is not acceptable! I had a 4th Gen before it got stolen that had over 140K with a stage one clutch and Stillen Pop Intake system, and don't remember any loss of oil. I have NO engine MODs to my 5th Gen. The only changes I have to my car is the Pop Intake System, Cattman Y-pipe, Cat, B-pipe, and muffler. I called the Nissan customer Hotline and opened a CA expressing issues with the dealerships decision that 3/4 of quarter of oil is exceptable burn-off at 1095 miles. I received a call from the regional rep. she disclosed that the dealer wants me to bring the car back to perform more test...But!! You ready for this one?! I have to restore all of my OEM parts. As you can image I was a bit upset about this, because none of the changes to the car should effect the extra burn-off of oil. Once again I never installed any engine MODs. I just believe this is a tactic of the dealership for not fixing my car. Yes I paid for an EXTENDED WARRANTY! O, one more point the car was used! Purchased from Nissan Dealership.

I need help getting a OEM intake system and OEM CAT, b-pipe, and muffler. I have an OEM y-pipe. I am willing to purchase or if you can let me temporarily use it I am willing to pay for rental fees.

whats good, its maximous....lol...lol... but yea its really not there fault, not to take any sides... but that extended warranty will not be covered with those parts....HOWEVER if the service guys really want to they can claim that the problem has NOTHING to do with the part, unfortunately they cant prove that without putting EVERYTHING back to stock.....

think about it, they arent tryin to rip you off if they are giving you the chance to take everyting off, they could have just said you have modded the car, so deal with it....

think about painting a car, and doing body work...only an idiot would just keep just adding to the problem, yopu must remover everything and start over, to get the true verdict of how bad it is...

i say just leave it alone, it wll ALWAYS BURN OIL

If they do find that it is still burning oil with everything stock(which we all know they will) they'll most likely give you a brand new engine so returning everything back to stock might be worth it.

I agree with AJ and Chunie. It's definitely worth it. If they really wanted to rip you off they would have blew you off a long time ago trying to say it's because you have mods. Just take em off. Might be worth it in the long run.

I will post it here for everyone,

I just spoke with my mechanic, a Nissan tech of 24 years, and he says if the car is being run hard, that amount of oil burn is normal. With higher mileage you will eventually start to burn more oil. Now if you are not driving it hard then that is a different story.

NNA begs to differ...they admit there are bad rings on 3.5, regardless of car its in.
if it wasnt bad rings, the engines burning oil wouldnt fail compression and leak down tests.
"driving hard" is an excuse...other engine are driven hard and dont burn oil like this.

Yeah I am told if you are losing more than 1 quart every 1K miles then there is a problem.

Funny thing is mine burns oil like you wouldn't believe. Before it was burning 1/2 quart every 500-750 miles. Now it's a little better since I went from Castrol to Quaker State. Doesn't help that it's so hard to check the oil level with these faulty dipsticks.

Mine has never burned a quart of oil...ever. In fact, my oil is always full when I change it every 6-8k miles
