double din help

o.k so after installing my kenwood excelon DD about a month back, i realised that no one really carried the kit for the GXE non bose, so after finding an online site that carried the product (hi-fi sound and connections, part number IIRC nnb1498) after numerous attempt, they finally got the part in ready to be shipped, Yay end of a DD sitting with no dash trim............. no!!!........... after trying to install it today, the DD's positioning in the center console was too high therefore it wont fit or leave a 1/4in thick gap between the bottom of the DD n dash kit (according to bestbuy installers) is there anyways to mount the DD lower, like using different screw holes on the side? i cant see y it works for everybody but me?.................... Oh yea n DD= double din

I have the scoshe DD kit and I have a Pioneer D3. Mine was the same way but the D3 has mad holes so I was able to use a different set. Try that. If you're lucky there will be some you can use. Here is my thread.

Yay for Scosche. Got my D3 in.

o.k pics will be up as soon as possible, after a 1 1/2hrs of messing around i finally got it in, like majestic said, i had to use different holes, not only that, only 2 screws (1 on each side) holds my double din in place, it turned out more flush than expected but it had very little space between, it didnt open all the way at first but i kinda rigged it a lil and now it works... confidence boost for the youngins

EXACTLY. Mine is in with 2 screws too. Don't worry. As long as they are tight it will hold perfectly.
