East Coast/DCMAX Meet sponsored by NWP Engineering 9/27/08
Alright everyone, after the failed attempt to do a RCP meet this summer Aaron Kimball of NWP Engineering and myself set out to organize and plan what we hope to be a very successful and rather large meet with some surprises, new faces, and turnout from the entire east coast regional community here on the org and the DCMAX
The details are as follows
Date & Time:
September 27th, 11am - till dark/they kick us out Hopefully this gives everyone enough time to work it into their schedules
Location:
Seneca Creek State Park
11950 Clopper Road
Gaithersburg, MD 20878
Pavilion Nutthatch
This location was picked because it can hold up to 200 people, has 50+ parking spaces, enclosed pavilion, play areas for the kids, open fiends/recreation areas for the adults. Not too mention every other regional park was booked in the area, and honestly with the turn out we are expecting the spaces at RCP aren't sufficient. It's not particularly close to any specific group and should provide for nice caravans, and perhaps even Bauer might show up considering it's all of 30min from his house
Food:
Much like RCP we'll ask for you guys to provide that. Well make a separate thread for the food list, much like Karim did with RCP.
EDIT: All. We need to get this list up way past 10 people and just a handful of stuff. We've got 80+ CARS confirmed to come, and even with last minute drop outs we will still have well over 100 folks attending which is far more then any meet we've had in the last three years including the RedlineMax meet a few yrs ago.
This for all intensive purposes will be the biggest meet we've ever had in the DCMAX. We need full participation from EVERYONE! regardless if you are bringing food, or making a $5 cash donation (via Paypal or if you're local in person) towards the cost of such. It's not madatory but at the same time we aren't going to provide for the cost of the space and the food too.
Activities:
Our sponsor will be giving away several items in the NWP Engineering Drawing as well as organizing a free Trophy Car Show. *Edit* If you donate via Paypal, bring food, or bring cash to the meet, you will be given a ticket for the NWP Engineering drawing on the day of the meet. As well as there will be an opportunity for you all to purchase his products at discounted prices (more information will be posted). Also there is hiking and biking trails, boat rental, fishing, flatwater canoing and kayaking available in case you all want to break from the group and go do that.
Cost:
NWP Engineering and I have both contributed our own capitol to cover the shelter cover charges (it's $200 just to rent the space). But in order to cover all food expenses, we are asking for your help. You can donate by sending payment via Paypal , bringing food, or just showing up with a couple of bucks. However, this isn't mandatory for attendance, but it is encouraged.
For all Maryland Residents! The park is charging a $2 fee per car to enter in over the weekend. Normally they let people slide but given our sheer numbers they will probably be enforcing it at the booth. Please bring eight quarters with you. Thanks
For all VA Residents! Your entry fee is free because i'm a VA resident now too
No, seriously though, it's $3 for you guys.
So please don't forget to bring this. Should you "forget" or run into any issues, give me on Aaron and call from the front gate.
Directions:
The park is located in Montgomery County. From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south, take I-270 north towards Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 10, Clopper Road (Route 117). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. The park is approximately 2 miles on the left.
From points north, take I-270 south towards Washington, D.C., take Exit 11 (MD Route 124 west). Turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp. At the second light, turn right onto Clopper Road (Route 117). The park is approximately 1.5 miles on the left.
Who to contact:
Either myself - Bobbie Price/blprice2@gmail.com/301.672.8023
or Aaron Kimball of NWP Engineering/aaron@nwpengineering.com
Who's Invited:
EVERYONE! We are especially reaching out to the local community, but are going to try and get as many people up and down the east coast to attend. Including a big push to get the guys from NYCMaximas.org to make the trek (we've already been in contact with the people there about it).
We are very much aware that this doesn't work out for everyone's schedule but hopefully it works out for enough of us to make it our biggest meet in years. This took a lot of planning on our parts and a lot of quick decision making in order to salvage something for this year, hopefully it will meet with everyone's approval. Do feel free to hit up Aaron or myself via pm, email or by phone for additional details, questions or concerns.
Would you like to purchase NWP Engineering products at the meet?
If you would like to purchase a Thermal Intake Spacer Kit or a VIAS Block Plate Kit at the meet, please send an email to [aaron@nwpengineering.com]. Please specify if you want the VQ35DE 02-08 Maxima Kit or the VQ30DE 95-99 Maxima Kit.
The discounted price for both kits have been set at $200, CASH ONLY. That is a savings of $35!
I will try to bring enough kits for everybody to the meet, but if you contact me directly, that will help me get an idea how many kits to bring.
We will also be giving away several products on the day of the meet. Those who made a donation towards food expenses is automatically entered into this drawing. Winners will be announced right after the NWP Car Show Trophies have been handed out at 4pm inside the Nuthatch Pavilion.
There are several ways you can donate.
1) Please send Paypal payments to bprice@dfi-intl.com in any amount. Your donation will be noted and all you'll have to do is visit the NWP Engineering Table on the day of the meet to get your free drawing ticket.
2) Bring food or any supplies needed to make the BBQ go smoothly. Then come pick up your free drawing ticket at the table. Please post in the Food List thread if you would like to contribute this way. Here's the link: FOOD LIST - East Coast/DCMAX Meet - FOOD LIST
3) Bring cash to the meet. If you plan on eating or drinking anything, please make a donation at the NWP table. Alicious is spending a lot of his own money on food. This money will go towards his expenses.
Here are the products that will be given away:
1) We will hand out several of these 2008 NWP Engineering East Coast Maxima Meet Tshirts made specifically for this meet! They will also be for sale inside the pavilion all day for $15 each. We have S-M-L-XL. Other sizes are also available with just the NWP Logo in Extra Small Women's, and 2XL Men's.
2) A couple NWP Engineering Embroidered Polo Shirts valued at over $25. One L and one XL.

Slightly confused by the statement... but ok?! I should be there. ill put my time in tomorrow
Your Acura folks, that one cat in particular thats always talking smack and trying to prove himself on here and on the street. That's who I was referring to. MoCounty Police aren't going to be tolerating any "misbehavior" from us in the park....Those folks are the only one's i'm concerned with.
Sounds like a good time. I called the Park service about RCP and it sounds like every weekend is booked for quite some time, so I'm glad you got something else figured out. Good job guys!

I am going and that's all there is to it!!!! If you all don't know, there is a special road on the way to Gaithersberg off of 70 that is BEAUTIFUL to ride on. Not to mention it is hilly and curvy. I am looking forward to the drive down there for that 1 reason (of course to see the rest of my 6th gen family) but TAON drivers will love this road!!! Some of us have already been on it!
Bottom line, I am in and SO IS TAON!!!!

Yeah, you can make a donation on the day of the meet if you'd like. I should have a table set up either inside the pavilion or just on the outside. Make sure you come up and say hey.

It's cool. I wanted to provide everyone with plenty enough time so that they can ask off of work. Plus, it gives me and Alicious enough time to organize everything.

really more a matter of that the weekend prior I'll be out in Oklahoma at Jason's wedding (Cutler and Puppetmaster will be there too), without the wife or baby for 3-4 days the weekend before....so I don't know if I'll be able to ditch the family the very next weekend again...

Oh I gotcha. No problem. Bring the family. It is a pretty beautiful park from what I've seen. They don't have to hang around Maximas all day. Take them on one of the hiking trails.
I hope Jason was serious about his honeymoon being spent in Gaithersburg.
