I'm looking at getting a custom exhaust for the max. I did a search, but they are nowhere near me. Are there any shops on the south side of chicago? Let me know.

It's where Driver's Image sends all their customers.
No mandrel bending though...
it's near Montrose and Harlem...I think.
What kind of exhaust work did you get done over there? Pre-cat pipes? and how is your N1...I heard they are real good...

I had the N1 for about 2 years now...
without Y-pipe: it's real deep soft tone...it's awesome!
with Y-pipe: it's really really loud. I even set off alarms on cars in the parking lots. Love it though.
I have a Bonzai resonator also.
At Iggy's I had a straighter 2.5" piping made for my N1. It takes about 1 hour. Pipes made and installed costed me I think around $200 (stainless steel)
do you guys know how APEXi dunk muffler sound like without Y-PIPE?
im thinking about gettin it without y-pipe
thanks,
Tae

from what i understand, the carbon fiber hoods fit all 95-99 maximas. there shouldn't be a problem.
tae, are you wanting the dunk to have a quiet exhaust? i can't remember if there's a silencer for that exhaust or not, but getting any exhaust with one would definitely help the situation. as far as apex goes, furbiss's muffler (n1?) was quite loud and maxdrvr847's apex ws had a lower tone and wasn't too loud until full throttle..
