INDY! Need service recommendations/warnings

For Indy Maximas...
Even though I bought my Max in Anderson, it will be a whole lot more convenient if I have any service done in Indy. Anyone have any specific recommendations and/or warnings about the local dealers? Tom Wood is the closest to my job, but if their service attitude is anything like their sales mind-set...oy!

Thanks,
JimC

Tom Wood? While I was there once, I jokenly asked if they make more money servicing cars than selling cars, and the guy behind the counter quickly replied, "Oh, by far, servicing." And he was serious....

As far as a good place in Indy to service your car, I found (with my honda) that the smaller places always take there time and don't rush my car, and the larger places try to 'mass service' as many cars as they can.

If I were you, most of the servicing is quite simple and can be done by yourself. It's sounds intimidating, but it's not once you really look at it. Check out MaximaDriver.com and go to the How To section, and do as much as you can by yourslef, then send the rest over to the pros.... just my $0.02.

I was going to say hubler nissan down in greenwood...I bought my car from them, modded it, and they still make "nissan warranty" repairs to my car eventhough I had a y-pipe, rt cat and b-pipe, intake and suspension mods done to it.

to be specific...I had my ignition coils replaced and worked on numerous times.

unfortunately for them though, their service dept is very young....their master mechanic retired late last year and their service is inexperienced...in my mind.

what exactly do you need to get done to your car?

No service needed right now other than the fuel-cut TSB and the fuel-filler shield replacement thing. I'll probably use Payton-Wells for those, though.
I'm just trying to get an idea of who to trust in Indy just in case I need something done in the future.
Greenwood's quite a hike for me. I work on the northside. Drive in from Muncie.

Thanks,
Jim

Say NO to Tom Wood...

My two cents consists of this: Screw Everything that has to do with Tom Wood. Too many times I've been witness to some lame sh#$. Someone out there must like them because they're still in business...but it isn't me.

I go to Collins on Lafayette and 38th street on the west side. The main guy there, Hank, is a fairly cool cat when I need something but normally I do most everything myself...I'll go in periodically just to see if I missed something or screwed something up. So I recommend them.

Re: Say NO to Tom Wood...

Thanks, IndyMax!
I kind of had a bad feeling about TW. Mega-Dealers make me nervous. In Muncie, we have Stoops. They sell Nissan, Toyota, Buick and BMW. Last time I was at their lot, though, it was hard to tell if they were selling Nissan anymore. They had 3 Maxima GXE's and about 7 Sentras. No Max SE's, no 2k2 Altimas and no trucks or SUV's. They had just about every Buick made on their lot, though. That lack of Nissans makes me kind of worried about service there, too.
Well, if my 2k1 SE is anything like my '91, I won't have to have much, if anything done to it anyway.

Gotta go grab a Guinness.

If you need high performance stuff done you can check out my boyz at Extreme Imports. (317) 596-1175. You can tell them that Jeff Sears with the 89 Max sent you.

Hey, Jim. Did you give Extreme Imports a call? You might as well do a price comparison, at least. I think you'll be happier with thier shop than any mega-dealer. They do all my work.
