Could be moving to Decatur, IL
Whats the area like? I know its about 3 hours to both Chicago and St. Louis.

I wish i could tell you. Never really been down there. Jdmmaxima89 or something like that might know alil better. Maybe Cheafasaurus since he's from Bowlingbrook. You can tell I don't know my areas all too well yet.

Decatur is a SH!THOLE. The only thing supporting the city is CAT and crime is out of control. Poverty, drugs, and crime infect every corner of the area. Avoid at all costs. I know because I've had to go down to the Decatur facility intermittently.

I agree. I live in Tuscola. I went to decatur for a dual credit deal at the trade school there. We heard shootings and sirens on a daily basis. Tuscola is a nice small town, but not too much work. Most people go to Champaign for work. If you want to do anything like go bowling, miniature golf, see movies, it's all in Champaign.

Well I have a phone interview in about an hour with ADM up there for a level 3 IT job. We will see how it goes. Thanks for the heads up.

Looks like i'm one step closer. They are flying me up there Thursday for a face to face interview. Will give me a chance to check out the town, since I'll be there until Sunday....

Decatur is similar to Peoria in some aspects. However, in others it is like East St. Louis.

Are you flying into Bloomington-Normal? That's probably going to be the closest airport.

Yup, I will be flying into Bloomington. It would work out well since I would be making more, I would be a full time employee with benifits, I have a friend that lives there and owns her own home which is paid for and has told me she doesnt need rent, so we would split the utilities, and I could use a change. Atlanta is just full of too many bad and negative memories.
Only thing that blows is theres no White Castle in Decatur!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

News for ya... there isn't a white castle really anywhere close by. Really the only reason I ever go to Decatur is because that's where the closest Carlos Okellys is.

HAHAHA funny you mention that place, cause my girlfriend took me there yesterday for lunch once I landed! That place is friggin awsome!
The interview went well I think. They have one more interview next week, and by this time next Friday I should have an answer. Today Im replacing her bathroom with her dad. fun....................

From first hand experience, Decatur sucks ass. My best friend lives there because he went to Milikin, and every time I stayed over there some kind of crime went down just next door or around the corner. There's either REALLY ghetto people that will rob, or shoot, or rob AND shoot you....or there's the white trashiest of white trash. There is no middle. Oh, and either way...whichever of those two things you are....you don't make much money. (Well...some of the ghetto dudes might, from selling drugs and what-not.) You won't find a three car garage though. Maybe a meth lab or two??
