Continental ExtremeContact DWS

After doing much reading on this tire it sounds great in almost all the conditions which I will be using them for except for the soft sidewall. So I wanted to get some opinions from people who have used this tire on their max.
Does the soft sidewall effect hard cornering or is this something i should not even worry about?

So I went ahead and got these installed today, it is pretty snowy outside right now with about 4 inches on the ground so I'm gonna go for a test drive and check em out. ekk!

I will have comments on these later for everyone that is interested.

So I have only drove about 200 miles on these tires but I pulled through 5 inches of snow with no problem. Even when I gave it more gas than usual in snow conditions it still pulled with little slip. The highway's are dry today and these tires are smooth and quiet, they seem pretty responisive but I haven't taken turns at high speed yet.

I would recomend these to anyone looking to get a/s performace.
Running 245/45/17 on stock rims. They look nice.

well that shouldn't be too hard if you got the money..

I would look at stock rims off the 06' 350z, they are sick! on a max.

heh, im on somewhat of a budget was looking aftermarket at places like Tire Rack, Discount Tire, etc.

Cant figure out if I want to go "classy" with 10 thin spokes, or sporty with 7 spokes (Sport Edition D5). Since the Conti tires are so expensive it limits what I can spend on wheels.

Check these out, 5 spoke would look way better. Especially while moving.

Also the continetial DWS's are like $125 a piece at discount tire, thats expensive?

What kills me is that the 16" Contis are priced like everything else. When you go up to 17 you go from 95 per tire to 125 or 135. I think a lot of it is because of the higher load rating (XL), which is pretty useless for our cars. Also wanted to make sure the wheels and tires came from same place, so the mounting and balancing is included (about 100 bux around here for a place I trust to mount and balance.......pretty decent savings if I let tire rack or Discount Tire do it). I didnt like any of the 5 spoke wheels at Discount Tire.

I was looking at the Sport Edition D5s in 16". If I wanted to go 17" I was leaning towards the Enkei J10s from Discount Tire.

I really like the Enkei J10s, just not sure how they would look on the car (the Discount Tire "see on my car" isnt nearly as nice as Tire Racks)

Still going with the Conti DWS tires. Any opinions? (I really should open a new thread)
