Chrome Wheels Severely Scratched...

So I got the 18" 5-spoke Max rims a few days ago. I always liked those so I found someone who was selling them for a very VERY good deal! Anyway 2 of the rims are perfect with not even a scratch but the other two.... well I'll let the pics speak for me... Check them out... What I needed to know is can you repair the chromed areas that are damaged or must the whole wheel be stripped and re-dipped? I've been asking local shops around here but they can't give me a straight answer... if anyone knows please let me know.... thanks for the help in advance.

The other parts of the rim are flawless which is odd... but the parts that are damaged are really messed up. They look like layers of the chrome and iron/steel are shaved off.

Dang man, those are really scrapped. I'd probably look for two more wheels, keep one for a spare, dump the other?

yeh a rechrome is about your only option. maybe talk to the seller for a full or partial refund to help pay for the bad rims.

Those are deep gouges, you'll probably need to have them welded (filled) ground, buffed, then dipped.

Thanks for all your help. I was going to do a rechrome which would cost 280+shipping in total but luckily I found someone on Ebay willing to sell two of the rims for 150.00 so I lucked out. At least if something happens I know I have to rechrome!
