Thinking about getting a set of these to replace my Avons. They're 215/55zr16 The avons handled really well in dry traction and I could take corners at high speeds and were always pretty quiet. The major downfall to the Avons are that they are pretty terrible in snow and I even hydroplaned out in heavy rainfall a few times. The Michelins have good ratings on tire rack and aren't to expensive at $138/tire. Wondering about the impressions you guys had with these tires. Thanks.
I have a set on my I30t and they're fantastic. I live in TX so have not had any experience with them in snow, but they handle great and feel glued to the road in the rain...and the roads get really slippery here when they're wet. I've had the tires for a year and a few months, 20,000 miles, and the wear is negligible. They're surprisingly quiet on the road considering the aggressive tread design. I think you'd be happy with them.
I just put Bridgestone RE960AS's on my 6th gen.(245/45-18).
They wre $33 cheaper than the Michelins for my size. So far I am very happy. The noise level for a 'W' rated tire is amazingly low. Obviously I haven't had them long enough to know anything about treadwear, but so far am pleasantly surprised.

Based on my experience with Bridgestones, I don't think I'd buy another set. I had a set of RE-950's on my max and they were garbage. While they were excellent in the rain, they were noisy and I had what was diagnosed as tread separation issues on two of the tires. You generally pay a little more for Michelins, but I have found that they are worth the money.
I had the michelins. I really liked them, although i would have hoped there dry traction would have been a little better, i had to realize it was an all season. I drove them through ~6 inches of snow, although they struggled, i did get where i needed to go.
They were very quiet, even as they started to hit the end of there life cycle, they are not very resistant to camber wear, and once they get to around 60% there traction both wet and dry significantly suffers.
Overall i wouldnt buy them again, only because of the cost and the fact i dont need all seasons because i have dedicated summer and winter tires.

Actually, the 960A/S are supposedly very good as well. But I don't have any first-hand experience with either tire.
I have them and they are the best tires I've had. They are super quiet and very sticky. Treadwear has been awesome so far. I've heard that the michelens are a little on the noisey side. Check out the reviews on the tire rack and the Bridgestones are far superior........
I got them and they are unbelieveable. Highly recommend them

A few years back - the Michelins were the Da BOMB around here....and i was convinced I would pay ANY amnt to have them.
However - did lots of research, and it seemed that they were VERy inconsistent in wear, performance, and overall VALUE - so I passed.
i just got a set of 960a/s's yesterday (dumped Falken Ziex512's) and they seem very nice. Obviously, I can't give REAL WORLD impression yet -- but initially, I can say they are very quiet, grip nicely, and are NOT terribly stiff in the sidewall for W rated tire.
I considered the Michelins, but that technology is getting OLD now, so I chose to go with something new. This is my first set of Bridgestones, and I'm hoping that they live-up to the #1 ranking they have on Tire-rack right now.
If I had to consider SNOW, I'd say ContiExtreme COntacts/960's/Pilot Sport A/S....based on RATINGS.
