Tire sizes!!

Well right now I'm on s-techs and blues with 19x8.5 rims. My tire size right now is 235/35, I want to go bigger cuz these jax roads are just waiting to tear my rims up. My question is, can I fit 40 or 45 tires on my car with out rubbing, I know my back will be able to but my front, you can barely stick two fingers between tire and fender.

Thanks

i would say no... what you could do is go wider which will in turn make the profile slightly taller.

What he said. 235 is way too slim for an 8.5, IMO.

By adding a wider tire, not only does that reduce the risk of rashing an exposed lip, it also gives you more profile.

keep the same or close diameter as OE. dont go taller tire. go wider tire. 245/35 or 255/35 depending on your offset and gap. roll your fenders if youre going to run wider tires.

I wouldn't say it is "way too slim" but it's on the slim side

I'd use a 245 on an 8.5, 255 is as wide as you want to get with low-pros and 235 is pretty much as narrow unless you want to be a gigantic fudgepacker and stretch your tires

We are all entitled to our own opinion. When I went from 8 - 8.5", I was @ how much more the tire stretched (245)

well thanks guys for all your help, i looked today at my tires and they will rub all my plastic of if i go bigger, but i'm deffly going to go wider. IMO 235 is not that bad for 8.5 cuz they are not stretched like some VIP goes but they do have some room lol.

I've had 245/45 and 245/50 on an 8.5J and they seem pretty square to me.
