I had a few questions

There is a rim/tire setup near me and I'm wondering if anyone has ran the setup, or similar.

Rims:
They're Motegi Racing RT5 Rims.

Aluminum
18"x7.5" D/W
+45 Offset
5x114.3 BP
66mm Center Bore

Tires:
Toyo Tires (Not sure if they're proxies, but there is a picture below)
235/40/18

They were on a 4th gen so It appears they fit that, but I'm curious as to if they'll run on a dropped third gen. (Eibach/Tokico 1.2" drop all around)

It is for a price I cannot pass up.

yes they will fit.

i don't know why people think that just because its wheels/tires they don't need to search.

1) i'm POSITIVE this size has been covered before.

2) measuring is not hard

3) we're talking mm here. this is what; like 5mm more sunk in than oem sizes.

4) theres not much you can't fit with irs.

235 is pretty wide for a 7.5 wheel

is that picture the actual wheel?

if so, im guessing they are either NOT 7.5 wide or not 235 tires (probably not 7.5 wide)

the recommended sizing for a 7.5 18inch wheel is 215, at most 225. 235s would hang like a bich

tires vary a lot from model to model. toyo are on the narrow side of the spectrum. 40 series also lessens the bubbliness.

1cm (/2) will not cause something to "hang like a bich".

where are you getting your recommended sizing? you have to remember that most websites will give you a recommeded size based on diameter not width. ftr, 235 is recommended for a range of 8-9.5.

I tried searching but none of it is 3rd gen specific really... 45+ offset is a little high for 18's I thought, but I'm not really experienced with what these car's can, or can not ride with without rubbing.

Right now I have 16x7" BBS RX's with 225's on it and 50 height and they run fine, so I'm not worried about the tires not fitting right. Either way, the guy only wants $100 for everything so at the least I could just re sell them or trade for something I need.

Yes, that is a real picture of the rim/tire setup btw.

100 for everything?

id buy it, try them on, see how you like them, and then sell them for 300-400 on either CList or here....

you cant go wrong for that price.

it almost seems suspiciously cheap. make sure they are not bent or warped before the purchase.

sometimes you have to look for less than specific info and use your head a little. take the largest wheel youve seen fit and use that as a base. then a little simple math (or online calculator) wil give you your answer.

but yeah... they will fit.

It's because I've been told such contradictory evidence... And no matter what you search, you get different answers every time. You guys with 4th+5th gens have it easy because everything has been covered a million times, but a 3rd gen is a different car; I was hoping someone would have wheel/tire knowledge on them since many people obviously don't, so that's why I posted in this section as well.

Over in the third gen forums I've started a thread too:
3rd Gen Wheel/Tire Setup Questions

And they're all saying that they won't fit, where as here everyone is saying they will. I guess the only true way is to ask the guy if he'll let me test fit before purchase. I can't search if there's no definitive answer on what will fit on our car's or not. (What would I be searching for exactly?) But apparently I'm going to need spacers anyway.
