more options for wheel studs.
well one of my good freinds is a big 300zx/240 guy(also nissan master tech). Now he has the Z32 brakes on his, along with diff wheels and spacer. When we measured up the clearence to do the z32 bbk on my car it loosk like ill need a 10mm spacer, and longer studs. Now i can get some nismo studs but there kinda pricey, for 10 $65 on courtesy parts.
Now heres what he told me. He is using 04-07 nissan quest rear studs. He said they are about 5mm shorter then the 60mm nismo studs he has seen. They are also ALOT cheaper then the nismo. I think my price on them is like 1.50 each. I havent tried these yet, but he said they should work, he has them on his s13 and s14. I cant see why they wouldnt work, they should be the same thread pitch because nissan uses the same wheel locks on everything.
Once i get the rest of my bbk parts and spacers, ill try these out and let you guys know how they work.
I dont know if this is well known or not, which is why i decided to post it up.

you think nismo studs are expensive now, you should have seen them back when I bought em about 4 years ago. I paid like $110 for 12 of em (10 front ones plus I bought 2 spares just in case.) Nismo studs were FAR stronger steel than stock studs were though, so I never ended up stripping one, unlike stock studs of which I have stripped tons.

Well i got some bad news, i went to purhcase them, and my cost on them is 14$ each.
So i ended up getting some nismo studs. I got the 60mm ones with a 14.3mm knurl. on my nismo it never showed any for the maxima, but i measured the stock and the knurl looked to be about 14.3, so i ordered the 300zx 60mm studs with 14.3mm knurl. Cost me 75$ canadian taxes in. My cost on them is 68CAD.

Yeah, but the thing is, i dont want to spend 140$ + shipping on spacers, when i already have the 10mm spacers. Also the nismo studs are very strong too. Should be the last stud ill put in the car unless something stupid happens to them lol.

10mm spacer is NOT okay to run with the stock studs. you might be able to get away with it if you're running steelies, but at that point you wouldn't be using spacers anyway.
The big issue on the wheel studs is to make sure you get the proper knurl diameter. As you've said, there are 13mm and 14mm.
you've REALLY got to watch out with the 3g Maxes. the older wheel hubs and stuff had 14mm knurls on front and 13mm on the rear... The newer OEM replacement wheel hubs are all 14mm on front and rear. Since I replaced only one rear wheel bearing, I had 3 corners at 14mm and one at 13mm.
fortunately I had a 13.75mm drill bit from a past project, and I was able to bore out my hubs and press in the 14mm studs with no problem.
FYI, I also paid $52/ 10pk from my local nissan dealer. Our local Z Club gets a discount.
