HX40 1.00AR vs. .70AR turbine

I have a question, currently have an HX40 with 18cm^2 housing which from what I read is about 1.00AR. its a twin scroll t3 housing.

I found a great deal on a Bullseye BEP .70ar housing that bolts right up to this turbo.

My question is, would a .70ar nondivided t3 housing choke up at the 500whp range? I am looking for sooner spool and more power per psi. I know the .70ar will spool very quick but not sure at what point it would choke. Some DSM guys are making above 600whp with hx40/.70ar at 30+psi, but not sure if that would apply to a 3.5L

seeing how you have no plans to extend the rev limiter I think you would be fine

But a .84 would be great

if its the same t3 housing your not going to see more power per psi but you will spool faster

I ordered the .70 ar housing for dirt cheap and its a direct bolt on. Should make for a much funner car.

I am starting to think that this turbo starting to get out of its efficiency range at 20psi. Not running methanol right now since I changed part of my charge pipe and dont have nozzles mounted. So I reduced the timing a bit to about 15degree's, mid range there was no issue with knocking or JS lighting up, but at high rpm closer to 6100 it started lighting up. I reduced more timing, low teens and went away. I dont think it should be knocking at 15-16deg and 20psi. Which leads me to believe that its producing alot of heat at that boost and RPM. My theory is, either my 2" charge pipe is becoming a bottle neck for that boost, or the turbo is just out of juice. Based on the compressor map I am pretty much at its peak.

Yall think a larger diameter charge pipe would reduce heat and allow for more power/flow?

it there anyway you could make the piping shorter or with less bends. that maybe cheaper than running larger 2.5 piping

Nope, I already have the shortest path possible for being rear mount. I dont think distance is an issue at all. Only reason i have 2" piping is because of ground clearance (not for the added velocity and response).

Dosnt look like they have a t4, I havent heard of one made either. http://www.extremepsi.com/store/home.php?cat=1758

Why is it that you would like to switch to a t4?

cause its easier to merge two pipes to a t4 flange than a t3 flange due to it being bigger.
The place is only a few minutes from my house sucks they don't have a t4 housing

Got the .70AR housing installed and HOLY F***. I can get full boost in 1st gear (15psi, even with no load while spinning lol). in 2nd and 3rd boost comes in like if it was a nitrous shot, full boost at about 4200, spools up then BAMMMM no turbo sound or anything straight up WG dump and pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. LOL. pretty wild. It spun the tires at around 60ish in one instance.

AFR is on the rich side, high 10s low 11's. Im using dual nozzle meth, so im going to disconnect one of them (which is like a 2gph nozzle).

Individually you feel the difference a bit, but mounted on the turbo, overall its way lighter. (not sure about actual lb's n stuff). The 18cm housing looks giant not only because the housing itself is bigger but its an internal WG so it adds a whole lot of bulk to it, inside the difference is not as big as what it looks like from outside.

Not sure yet, overall is great. top end feels same as with other turbine. look at my dyno thread for the top end discussion.
