J&S Safeguard and Emanage

Ok, so I have accepted that the EU does not work with the J&S. Was hoping to be lucky but no go. I put the J&S after the EU, and no start.

So I just left the EU with no ignition hooked up to it, only the J&S, and it works. My question is, dosent the EU pick up timing based on the Crack sensor? I was under the impression that it does, the reason I ask is because with no ignition hooked up to the EU it does not show any timing. Is there a certain setting I should change?

I want to control timing via the J&S and use the EU to log that timing.

Anyone kno how to get the EU to show ign timing without having the coils and ign wires hooked up?

Call John at J&S and ask him for a "Waste Spark Adapter". Tell him the situation.

Yea iv been talking to him, and he gave me the schematics of making a Buffered waste spark adapter, i have a non-buffered one as he only made 2 for I believe two 350z's but no longer kept making them (due to no demand). I dont know if i'll be able to make it myself so I am trying to see if he can do it for me.

I have to correct you on this. The older units needed a waste spark adapter. The new unit has it built in...

Are you correcting me or 98MaXeDouT?

Because, I am aware that the older units such as mine do not work with the EU while using standard waste spark adapter.

I have talked to john and we have agreed that his going to make me a buffered adapter.

Okay.. C Max has been using the J and S with his Emanage for sometime now. I believe he was the first to use it on a Supercharged Maxima... Keep us posted...

The older units were four channels max, so six cylinder required running in waste spark mode.

To make it work with emanage, I made a buffered adapter, but only made two of them.

The new units are eight channel, so you no longer have to run in waste spark mode, and the emanage compatibility issues are gone.

Plus, they have a headphone amplifier and a knock-finder display.
