i just upgraded my turbo and my innercooler setup and now when i floor it and i start seeing boost the cars boogs out like symptoms of a bad maf. im thinking im maxing out the stock maf . i was told that i can clamp the stock maf with the emanage boost cut feature but i cant get it to work. i have the greddy pressure sensor hooked up as well. does anyone still have their stock maf? or everyone just upgrades to the n62 300zx maf? my current setup t67 turbo with 555cc injectors and my old setup t04 50 trim turbo with stock injectors both at 8lbs of boost. any suggestions or anyone knows how to get the boost cut feature to work?
I'm on the stock maf with the pressure sensor. My car hasn't been professionally tuned so I'm not maxing mine out, the most I've seen was 4 volts. Since you are on a t67 with 555cc you might want to just go and get the z32. I'm only on 370cc with a t3/t4. If you can log on the wideband just see what rpm range you are leaning out and add injection (if you have the greddy injector harness). I clamped the maf once but it started bucking so I don't use it I just add and subtract as needed. You can also log the maf voltage and see where it maxes out also and fix your injection.
Yea, although you CAN continue to use the stock maf, it will make life alot easier if you use a z32 maf. with my 3.0, i had the stock maf maxed out completely, boost was at 15psi. Short answer, yes, upgrade it. I havnt experienced with the boost cut feature, but i know you can completely remove the MAF with the EU.
what kind of spark plugs do you have in your car? and if so did you gap them?
You have to gap them depending on the boost. You start reducing the gap once you get spark blowout. Iv always used NGK copper, 2step colder. bkr7es-11 for the 3.0, and for 3.5 havnt memorized it yet lol
i have ngk platinum 1 step colder at stock gap. once i get my car running right then i will regap them
This could be the source of your stumbling. ie spark blowout. Regap now, not later. This could fix your issue and you might be able to get by w/o the Z32 MAF.

and if i were you i would upgrade to the z32 maf anyway. why are you still useing the stock maf?
so i finally got around to regapping my plugs turns out it was spark blowout n my maf maxing out. i gapped the plugs to .032 and took it for a test drive no more hesitation until about 5500 rpm thats where the maf was maxing out and boost was higher than before i'm guessing from the huge pressure drop from the extra intercooler piping. maf maxed out around 14psi, i got the boost cut feature to work dropped the voltage clamp to 4.1 volts and now its running like it should. now i have to worry about traction issues its not grippin for s**t.

didnt follow up on this thread, glad you got the car running properly now. This is on a 3.5 right? We should meet at the track one day.

You would also want to change your plugs to copper or iridium as well. If there is plug failure and the tip of the plug breaks off in your motor, the platinum will not burn up and pass through the motor where the copper or iridium will.
I would recommend copper. its the softest out of all, so if for some reason you run into pretty bad detonation or preignition then the plug will most likely melt before more serious engine damage is done.
