Put another SCed max out there also full 4th gen piping on a 5th gen

Pipes were not modified except for cutting off the maf flange and using a maf adaptor and coupler and capping the nipple on the elbow. Car is running on 6psi with no probs.

better shot of the piping

Hey man that looks good. I used 4th gen piping as well, but blew my maf after hitting around 11psi.

I think you'll be good for 6psi, as I was easily hitting that much boost, but be wary when going to smaller pulleys.

Compressed air will be hot, plus look where your charge pipe sits. So yeah it is normal.

never could really figure out why they did it that way, but I also never worked on one, so there might be a reasoning for it being that way

Plate doesnt effect boost, the blowers do. The V1 usually makes 1-1.5psi less then the V2 blower.

Why is it that the v1 makes 1-1.5 less PSI than the v2 blower?

Because of the impeller design cfm is little higher per psi on the v2
