My Turbo Build

Over the past year i have been piecing together my turbo kit. Its been a long process but finally finishing up the main changes and gathering all the parts i myself feel necessary.

I took it upon myself to organize my list on a spreadsheet after seeing Kevlo's build thread and how organized he is!

So here is what i have and plan on getting, i am going to be having questions of course, and would love to hear input of whats good, bad etc. or any questions! What may be needed, or any tips at all!

Here is a link to the spreadsheet

Go ahead and get a wb02 forget wasting money on a "narrowband" sensor. its a 1/4 the price of a wb. I got my innovate brand new for 200 dollars shipped off of ebay. That and a mechanical boost gauge is all you really need to start out with. Id also skip the electric boost controller and just use a manual until you have a proper tuning device.

So i am better off holding on installing the E-boost controller and pick up an Innovative wb02 until i can get my hands on an emanage etc? I have my boost gauge so would you say an LC-1 standalone and/ or the DB setup with the gauge? Can i use my prosport air fuel with the LC-1?

so i went to the exhaust shop to figure out cost of the downpipe and exhaust. Got that all figured out, but in order for me to have them fab up the dwnpipe im going to need to install my forward y to ensure proper fitment for the downpipe from turbo.

Im trying to figure out how i should approach this as im going to have the downpipe made to attach to the y so i can take it home to install everything else.

My problem is getting the car to the shop, do i go with just my y opened?!? as i know, i dont want the super hot air going into my engine bay or intake?!

No i was saying that the electric boost controller is unnecessary at this point, unless you already have it.

You can try and get there when they first open. I remember sweating bullets when passing a cop car on the side of the road waiting for speeders, that was turning the forward y to meet the rest of my system since it still had to run n/a. Installed the turbo about 2 years later . Then I had to drive to a shop with a partial down pipe, turbo installed to meet up to the cat. The only worry is a cop having a bad day and people looking at you wondering why your exhaust is so loud.

I have AAA so that is def a smart option. Gonna have to ponder over it a bit!

haha i hear yah on that part. Its not too far, and of course i could try and get the y on and to the shop early, but im sure with pretty much open headers it will be quite loud lol ! Just wondering what you guys did. lol Im going to be doing the same thing, (hopefully around 2 weeks instead of years later ) have the y met with down pipe and exhaust, then finally install the rest throughout the weeks as i grab a few last minute parts.

Are you sure you have to run a slim fan? What about cutting and rewelding the motor mount, that's what was done on my car to clear the radiator.

i would def do that but the problem lies in the y running straight from the front mainfold. Im going to either have to run one fan or buy a slim fan to replace the fan that is in the way.

Hey man just realized you were in Franklin MA. That's pretty close to me!! There's gonna be tons of boosted Max's by xmas its gonna be nuts.

As for driving with open headers I say just do it. Even if you do get pulled over you have a legit reason and just explain to the officer what your situation is. I'm sure he'll understand.

When you're down shoot me a PM so I can check it out. I'll have my supercharger all up and running by then too.

fpr and oil dont go together lolz. I ran a t on the oil pressure sending unit for my oil feed line. Then i welded a bung into the lower oil pan for return. If you have the time tap the upper for return. That is the best place for it.

Got my 2 slim fans in today. Look great and going to hook them up asap. Now there are two connectors on the slim fans (black and blue). On the oem fans there are 4 connector wires. Anyone off the top of ur head know the best way to connect.
