5.5gen Turbo'd putting out 447whp is it possible?

Ok don't know if im late but a while back came across this turbo kit for the 3.5 altima's http://www.turbokits.com/altima_turbo_kits.html and emailed Turbokits.com to see if it would work for the max and they said yes. Any way on there site came across a customer claiming 447whp at 8psi on a 5.5 just wondering if this could be true I know chernmax successfully turbo'd his 6th gen but this the first Ive heard on a 5.5. Click the link below and scroll halfway down the page.

It's possible. Likely? I dunno. Definitely possible, though. To make power like that at such a low boost level would require a decent sized turbo, though.

why is 447whp so hard to swallow out of a 3.5liter motor? people pull that off in 1.8t's and k20s

Yeah good find Torgus you should work for the FBI, Lol anyway yeah on here he say 347 which sounds a little more acurate. I guess you could get 447 with alot of fine tuning. But he also said it cost him 5k for the kit and 3k for the piping. So $8,000 for less than a 100hp case closed not worth it IMO

heh thank you.

idk how you can spend 3k on piping alone...about 8k for less that 100whp that's not exactly accurate, only because stock we put out around 215-220...so hitting 347 is decent about 130whp gain. now 8k for 130whp is not the best price out there. You could do a RMT for about 3k assuming you can do some of the work yourself.

The 5.5 maxima bolt on from SFR for 5k+ made 400whp.

If you just wanted peak hp you would go with some monster sized turbo that doesn't spool till 4k-5k or so. You could easily hit over 500whp. boring to drive for the street, unless you're on the highway and probably not the best for the strip either but you can certainly do it. it's all about where you want the power. would you like 200whp from 5-6.5k? or boost starting at 3k with only 400whp? me the latter.

fwiw hal made over 450whp with his 3.0...it's definitely possible to hit 450ish whp on a 3.5...

I was refering to his post on the the org that he was putting out 347 horses from the turbo kit. It just doesn't seem to me worth putting out 8k for an extra 100-150 horses but thats just me I guess im just cheap lol

Man do you guys have this all screwed up or what. Torgus just keep doing what your doing, and don`t make a job career change. That video is not of 02turbomax. The video is of 1swtmax. The file says 02 maxima but the car is a 03 (not much difference, just wanted to get the facts straight). The car puts down 395whp and 412 torgue. I have about 10 grand in the kit, piping, tuning, fuel pump, and custom 3" stainless exhaust. Well and also labor for some of that. Its probably worth it to me cause its not driven everyday, basicly on the weekened. The car only have 38,000 miles on it. I like to show it more than anything. I know some of you will say its to much money. Then don`t buy it. But I honestly did want more power out of the car but thats it. It makes 395whp at 9 psi, and it makes 355whp by 4500 rpm. The car spools up real quick, it lays you in the seat at 3000-3300 rpm. Tire smooking machine.

No, that kind of power is not possible at that boost level with that turbo kit. I think that's a typo or just a lie. Or else a bunch of weird fiddling with the dyno #s which is possible.

There is a possibility that he did hit that number, just not at 8 psi. He blew his motor and is in the process of building it to handle more power and also had to build his tranny becuase that went as well.
