thanks for the info. Nice max you got there. Does the turbo generate excessive heat under the hood? And how much boost can the stock engine safely handle?

Thanks.

Not to sound like an ass or anything but this info can be found if you use the button to your upper right that says SEARCH. All the info you will need is there. No one is going to spoon food you info that is readily available to you. After you search over and over again if you still have questions then feel free to ask. But before you ask anything else search then come back. Thanks .

usim- us intake manifold
mevi ( which you might see around)- middle eastern variable intake

i think for the boost levels neal or hal could help you if you can ask them.

and why do people act so hard on the net when someone asks a question? why not just bite your lip and dont respond if you dont want to answer him and say "search"

Not acting hard at all. If you look i answered a couple questions for him. What i have came to realize is that the search is now free. There was apoint where everyone couldnt search but now they can. Why should we have to spoon feed people that are too lazy to help themselves? Thats all im saying.

There's a difference between not spoon fooding and saying "search search search!" every time a non-triple OG asks a question that might have been asked before. Why not just lock the forums down and turn it into one big archive?

I do agree with you there. Thats why i didnt just come right off and ask him to search. I knew what he was asking answered it pretty fast. I answered the next question for him also. Im not one of the few that say search and dont answer , i will answer and suggest the search .

i can understand if its a question that is very detailed and requires a whole thread to explain then saying search makes sense

but 99% of the things on this forum can be searched for by if everyone does that then only the other cars forum and ot would be alive since very little changes with maximas for the general public.

we should look forward to the chance where we can be the wise old people and help out the newer ones.

People that automatically say "search" w/out EVER really trying to help are just as guilty of being lazy as those that repost common questions. In that scenario, no one wins.

I guess you missed the other locked thread he made in the 4th gen section about a "bolt on" turbo kit....

He was told to search and instead makes another turbo thread using Nealocs car and then asks his questions.

Oh and to those who responded, thanks. And for the record, I am grown and do not need to be spoon fed. Most of the car forums (corvetts, 350z, camaro, maxima) are pretty much the same from my experience. Some help, others would rather tell you to seach versus answering the question.

Anyway, thanks and i'll spend more time on google learning about turbo maxima's, that is if I want to blow the money on another toy.

I was running 14.5psi then. That is on a T61/P trim turbo. USIM is the stock intake manifold, we call it that because it was available in the US (of course) whereas there was a different, much better intake manifold available overseas, in the middle east is where we first found it, so it got the name middle east variable intake (it's a switchable intake manifold with different settings for high rpm and low rpm operation). The USIM does not flow well at high rpms.
