Fuel Economy questions and ideas

I have a V2 Blower (6psi) on my 99 max.... and im planning on making a few long trips this summer the shortest one being over 5/6 hours away. I have stock injectors, the vortech fuel pump and riser. I only get 460kms on an avg trunk of 94 octane. A few weeks back i had a boost problem, it was turned out to be my blow off value. The BOV was actually sliding off, and boost was leaking out from the bottom. So when i was driving my car, my boost gauge would show only vaccum, and my car drove like stock again, but the bov still went off.

Now im thinking about doing a leak again from the BOV on purpose. Hoping this will get some of my kms back on long trips. Does anyone have any ideas or pitfalls i might run into any probs, or have any other ideas to get more kms?

Thanks

Why not unhook your charge pipe and put a filter on it? I mean i know with turbos you can overspin the turbo this way but i odnt think it would hurt a s/c as bad. I can be wrong.

Just take the SC belt off, and tie it up in the engine bay, and put your stock belt back on.

Well both of these trips are for car shows.... so don't want to have to do alot of fooling around at the shows, and explain to the judge why it's not hooked up....

I dont see how your gas mileage is so unbearable if your driving normal and not always in boost? You hit your peak boost of 6psi at 6500 right?
When does boost begin to kick in for you? 3500?

If you drive normal you shouldn't be seeing any boost anyway.

Exactly. Drive nice and easy and your gas mileage will be the same as being NA. No changes to your setup need to be made.

460kms highway or city? I barely get that city, while i was NA.

If your SC'ed 1-2psi wont affect your gas mileage that much, so keep the revs down and leave the lead foot at home.

its a little harder on a TC'ed car, as spool is not directly related to RPM in comparison to a SC. But the same saying goes, leave the lead foot at home, and gas mileage should not be that much different then NA.

When my '96 was boosted, I had the patience for a whole tank (as a test) and I drove very conservatively. I got 25 mph with mixed city and hwy.

I haven't had the patience with my now-boosted '99 so he usually gets low 20's. My now-NA '96 gets mid/high 20s every time with very conservative driving and 70% highway.
