Twin RMT?

First of all, Ive read the turbo FAQ so no need to send me the link.

I've been reading up on RMT's and It looks like I'm going through with that towards the end of this year, so I started thinking. Would it be possible to use one front mount and one RMT to make a TT setup?

Or even convert to dual exhaust and do a Twin RMT like they have for corvettes?

I'm not saying I'd Twincharging my car this year, just wondering if that would make up for the space issue.

Opinions??

Space will always be an issue but its possible with a lot of planning and measuring. Mexmax max was able to make a true dual setup on his car. If you are able to create a true dual setup you could (theoretically) put a turbo on each exhaust. You would need the proper intercooler to support it. and proper hardware, dual wategates, oil pump, etc.

I feels since meximax was able to make and fit true duals then, thats gives this a 1% more chance of actually being possible.

and by the way do the VQ35...bigger smile in the end

Sure it's possible. Anything is possible. You could make a quad turbo, twin supercharged max if you really wanted to. My buddy has a quad turbo plymouth fury. How much unnecessary complication do you want to deal with though? How much unnecessary money do you really want to spend?

i think unless you plan on putting down in the upper 600's i dont see the worth. people are knocking on the 400whp door hard with a single rmt.

do a 3.5 and a single big-ish rmt and you would be happy

what are your goals, cause the only thing I see a dual small turbo having over a single large turbo setup is quicker spool and high cost since you will need two of everything

two turbos will make lots of torque and still a nice peak hp compared to one massive turbo it is slightly benificial due to better response and lower temprature with increadible tq, unless they are very large themselves but that would be pointless! you can get two small turbos and do them in the engine bay and they'll make probably max 450-600 peak whp but that's a guess, all depends on size and setup but I would think it around that!
Two turbos require two up pipes two downpipes two intakes, two mafs or a cold y-pipe attached to one big maf to the two turbos, you could still convert the maf to a turbomaf that can read compressed air properly before throttle. could still use one large blow off valve but I suggest 2 for it to be safer on the turbo. I'd love to see it done properly with 2 gt25 ball bearing turbos or something and two waste gates two b.o.valves and one both sides intake from turbo to top out of inter-cooler (FMIC) to throttle with one turbo on each side of the engine feeding off 3 cylinders each and converging from two down pipes to a y-pipe like I'd always pictures in my mind! It would probably make 500-600 lbfeet of torque @ like 1700rpm in a low rpm start in 3rd,4th and 5th.

I hope one day I'm rich enough to get a rwd car and twin turbo it. lol!

I always think of the idea, but in my opinion its a waste of money. its better off finding the right size turbo that will provide low end power and keep up top end. unless you wanna do like me and just be the first to do something new lol (rmt). However i did it because it was very inexpensive and effective, twins would just be throwing away money, you can build a 3.0 or 3.5 for the money ur going to spend and do a single rmt.

Yikes

I can't even get the power to the ground as it is with a t04e at 7 PSI. Boost usually comes in at 3500 to 4000 RPM and the tires are blowing up already at that point. If it was a rwd, I would consider it.

240sx's are RWD

I had a dream about a VQ30DETT powered 240sx

I don't know if the engine could be used....but that's for a 240 forum

There are a few guys running around with the VQ in 240s. I'd rather supercharge a LS1.

First of all, thanks guys for shedding some light on the whole turbo set-ups and understanding it.
I'm completely new to the whole FI set ups, so i'm still learning and understanding it, but wouldnt it be possible to be able to use two turbo's and route it into a intercooler with with two inlets and one outlet and then have that routed into the throttlebody, thus eliminating the use of a second MAF?
