5.5Gen Turbo

I was browsing threw maxima.org and noticed the new Maxima of the month guy had a Turbo in his car. I looked up the manf. and saw that they said they have turbo kits avaliable for Maxima 3.5L Single turbo System. I remeber we 5.5 Gen's have not been able to find ready made turbo kits. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Link to the website

http://www.speedforceracing.com/prod...aximaturbo.php

They say they are looking for test cars. The price is pretty high though. About 5,000 for a kit. Not really worth it IMO. I think a good RMT setup would probably get you the same HP with about quater of the price.

If this is a re-post my bad I searched and didnt find anything pertaining to this....

Well I will post dyno sheets when I get my car back in about 5 to 6 weeks. My maxima leaves tomorrow or friday for CA. I live in PA so about a week out and a week back they will have it for about 3 to 4 weeks. With mine being a 6 speed I should be getting around 400-425 whp using stage 2 turbo that you see on speed force racing website. Ive been talking to Tim from that company and he is even saying 400-425whp. I have talked to some other companies about making a turbo for the max. and they all told me there is no way to turbo a maxima. I replied there is always a way. But finally Speed Force Racing is doing something about that. This car is going to be FAST.

Is that the more expensive kit? The site said about 375Hp but if they can get you up to 425 that would be pretty cool.

Yes that is the more expensive kit (stage 2). If you look at the altima that they already did they have a dyno sheet at 374 whp and Im talking about the same altima with the 3.5 but his altima is an auto mine being a stick should receive about 400 but I also have stage 3 clutch and a lighten flywheel which will make more hp.

I cant believe it took so long for someone to make a turbo for this car. I mean its the same freaking motor as the z just sitting in there sideways. And the z had has a turbo and a supercharger for years now. I just want to smoke as many hondas as I can. O wait mustangs, bmw, some corvetts you see where Im going with this.

check it out sometime. www.cardomain.com/ride/858544 remember these pictures are 3 years old and there has been some changes. I plan on updating the pictures when I get my car back.

Many of us has heard of this before SFR before and known about the kit for a while. Its nice to see someone else will be turboing thier 5.5gen. If I'm not mistaken you'll be the second to do this. Goodluck with the car and post pics when its done. Are you going to take it to the track?

Wow!! MT Turbo.. I can barely keep my 6 speed on the road with stock horsepower. Get ready for the Popeye forearms (torque steer)..

I was kinda thinking the same thing. I have a very hard time with traction in 1st and 2nd WOT. I have about 240Hp I couldnt imagine the traction issues with 400hp.

I agree with the both of you there is going to be a lot of tire slipping in first and second and some maybe even in third. I will have to be kind to the pedal starting out but once in third wide open. And plus once at the track it will want to hook up faster.

I meet the transport driver today (friday 5/9) to load the car for CA.
