The car is running rich right now, needs a bit of tuning. I have the video of the car revving up, etc. I will post it on here tomorrow after work. Don't mind the wiring and the mess of wires, hoses in the bay. It still needs to be cleaned up and be made presentable, so no comments on the mess please. And the owner says "Thumbsdown to the clowns on Maxima.org that think they know it all by saying it couldn't be done, or it would be too costly".
As for the comment about where it could be found...overseas? Nah, try a junkyard in NYC, lol. And as for someone saying it would be well over $2k, ended up being well under $2k to complete the swap. I believe it was a special deal since it was the first, but the motor costs $1k. Receipt included in pics.
I wonder if there would be gains on a regular vq30de with that intake manifold.
On a regular vq30de that was boosted, I would have to hope so. I would have to suspect unless boosted, gains only be netted on top of the powerband, down low and throughout the midrange I would have to guess you would lose power.

Yeah, I actually do have a video of it. I'll post it in a bit. BTW, the owner of the car informed me that the motor was actually purchased from a place that imports JDM motors. It wasn't just any old junkyard afterall.

Props on getting the motor in..... but the red looks out of place. I would be ashamed to open the hood if my engine bay looked THAT messy.
messy only matters if your slow....
props on this setup. i have a few questons that you can answer when ever u get a chance.
1) are you using the stock vq30det manifolds with this setup?
if so was there any clearance issues and how did u mount up a wastegate to it? ( i dont recall seeing a flange for it on the pics in the othr thread)
2) wat size turbo is that and what are you planning on doing about the clearance with the radiator?

I'm not even upset about the comment. I'm more upset about you not reading the first post. But congrats on being the very first poster to comment about the mess. Looks like eveyone else .

I believe he's still running a a regular A32 ECU as well for right now. Can't wait for it to really run. If I did this, standalone or EU is a MUST.

He's using the stock manifolds it looked like, and i'll ask if he wants to disclose the specifics of his setup. He'll be online soon so I don't have to play secretary for much longer, LOL.
