Apparently there aren't any inquiring Maxima minds that want to know.....or for that matter even bother to read that thread.

Alright well good discussion everyone, but no free kits here ..lol.
I have been looking over alot of pictures while I wait for the motor to arrive. I will most likely purchasing a 3.5 liter motor to have but we will see.
What I really need are pictures. If someone can snap some good shots of the side of the motor for me. Top, get close in..anything you can get me.
Thanks guys

here are some close ups of the VTC...excuse my oil catch can hoses
anyway...the VTC cam sprocket is about 1 inch thick...and from the edge of the VTC to where the supercharger blower will fit (after removing the coolant reservouir)...is only about 10.5 inches...i think that extra 1 inch the VTC sprocket takes up, is why stillen never bothered to R&D the supercharger for vq35's...not totally sure...

YOu can go one of two ways. You can control the injectors with the emanage and use its non returnless system. Or you can do it the way XS engineering does their boost kits and produce a fuel rail to return fuel back into the tank.

i dont think this would be that great for the CVT because you would never acctually reach peak boost right? Since peak is at redline and the cvt kind of just hold the rmps at a set level. Turbo if the CVT could handle it would be better since once its reached full boost it will hold that since peak boost isnt at redline.

ok, you guys want a stupid question, well here's one, what im I missing here, i see a plate a pulley and where exactly is the SC, is this just an adapter kit to mount a generic super charger? or something like that?, and what would be the total for the whole set up? including a sc, told you it was a stupid question
#56
its a plate then you go buy your own supercharger from vortec or whatever...SC goes on the sides...take a look at the above pictures...
i think its gonna be hard to fit on 6g (or even impossible)...that black fuse box is in the way...i'm wondering how would you relocate it?
as for the 5.5 gens, theres a higher chance of it fitting there...but i'm not sure how it will clear the VTCs...if anything, i can see it happeneing more on the 5.5 gens...not 6g

The timing cover on the 3.5 is all bumpy and wack looking. I'd look towards the driveshaft type instead, where the blower is mounted on the opposite side of the engine and driven by a belt-driven balanced shaft.

Well here are my thoughts as of today.
1) It most likely CAN be done the way I want it to be.... (SC plate Mounted on the Pass. side of the motor) Im still a bit negative on the subject but the more and more I look at it, the more and more ideas I am coming up with. I will be talking to the guys that do this for a living and know what can be done.
2) Is the motor Cover on the 3.5 a Huge Deal to you guys ?? Do most of you like the cover. It may possibly need to be removed to go with my idea.
3) If ALL 2006 guys have that electrical box where I see it in the pics above then there is a problem and it will have to moved for sure. Either up-root the tabs on it and try and re-locate it somehow. Maybe closer to the wheel well or soemthing....??
4) A Drive Shaft Style Blower will be BIG BUCKS$$. The reason for trying to mount the Blower on the pass side timing cover is for cost reasons. These Vortech blowers can be found for $500-$600 in great condition and then either installed or rebuilt to NEW Condition for $340. Reliable Boost on a 2002-2005' Nissan Maxima/Altima for under $3K.
Lets hear from Input.

I don't care about the engine cover at all.
I will take a closer look at the fuse box and see if it can be easily relocated.

I will keep you guys posted on this. If it possible to produce these, I will have one made and start contacting people for a test car where I will mount the blower, run it, run oil through it, with NO boost put to the motor. After running it for a bit I will have an idea of belt alignment but that will all be done before that day so it should all line up no problem.
