Do make it idle properly, you need to vent the charged air back into the cai pipe. It needs to be after the maf and before the blower. Since the maf is supposed to be x inches before the blower, you have x inches of space to vent in. Just get a large barb and jb weld that sucker in. It would probably be the easiest solution. Just make sure there are no air leaks.

:o)

I'm not sure that I understand the question. And I certainly don't understand Steve's answer - went right over my head.

But, my understanding of your question is: You want to know what to do with the Stillen-provided (stock) tube that runs from the stock Bosch BOV to the stock 3" 'pancake' K&N filter after you install your CAI. Correct? If I am understanding you right, then the answer is: nothing. You do not need to vent the BOV back to the air filter. You can easily vent it to the atmosphere.

The need for a reciculating BOV is where the MAF is on the tubing. If it is after the BOV like on the 4th gen kit then you can vent straight to air and never worry about it. If it is before the BOV like on the 5th gen kit then you would need a recirculating BOV, move the MAF in relation to the BOV, or use the Emanage function to compensate for the metered air that just disappeared.

I know people have had plenty of problems with the 5th gen MAF and I don't know how it will hold to being boosted, but putting it on the charged side after the BOV and SC would be the easiest solution. If you keep the MAF on the non-charged side then you would just need to route the air from the BOV to the non charged side after the MAF.

Since Ntech is a 5th gen and its a draw through setup. He will need to put it on the non-charged side unless he converts it to a z32 maf.

Josh-I forgot the number on inches that is suggested (I think its 18 inches) I just put x in there instead.

O.k., I get it now. It makes sense to me now that you guys have explained the MAF before vs. after the BOV and the 4th gen vs. 5th gen. configuration. Thanks.

I think he meant convert to the Z32 maf so you can place it on the charged side, and then run it like the 4th gen setup (Intake -> Blower -> BOV -> MAF -> TB).
