Orderd my clutch
Went with Clutchnet.
Their standard performance PP
Instead of the 6 puck sprung hub that most of the clutchnet users on here went with, I went with the full disk sprug hub "fiber carbon pro" sp
My I30 is my daily driver, which is 99% of the time on city streets. I really wanted something streetable that was not on/off. I hope this choice works for me.
Also orderd 5qts of Redline's heavy Shock Proof gear oil.

Multi-plate clutches, i.e. race, clutches are so much hype mostly. I find that most people just go with them because it's a "race" part. what they don't understand is they are REALLY hard on the flywheel. Kevlar discs ones are also very hard on the flywheel as they do not have the heat transfer of the organic types.
More to the point, many have found that a good organic disc and heavy duty pressure plate will hold more power than most people make with the stock turbo, or even a mild upgrade. This is what I will be doing.

The clutch in this post did not hold the torque he was putting down even in a simple highway roll on to WOT. He was smoking the thing at like 7-8psi. He got rid of it and got the 6 puck sprung hub and red PP and loves it so far.

I've had the Clutchnet smooth-lock organic clutch with their "yellow" performance pressure plate for about three months now. It's easy to drive and holds great in 2nd-5th gears, but in 1st gear it's kind of iffy. Sometimes the tires spin, but other times I feel like the clutch is slipping. I don't think this combo has enough holding strength for FI.
Conclusion: Do not get the organic disc and yellow pp. Go with the 6-puck and yellow pp, or maybe try the organic disc and the RED pp.

Not really correct. When it started slipping was when my input shaft bearing went bad and my clutch housing was full of gear oil. Can't blame the clutch if it's taking a bath in oil. And those highway pulls were @ 10psi with my cutout open. The only time it did not hold was when I tried to use Brians slicks out at your local track. But that was only a few weeks before I found the oil in the clutch housing, so it could have been oil soaked then too. I will never really know which happend first, the clutch slipping on it's own or getting oil soaked then slipping
Either way, I now have their 6-puck sprung hub disk and like it alot. I has held on the street and the dyno so far and I like the feel of it alot. Will find out if it holds on the track with slicks in a few weeks

I like it alot. Pedal is very light, but that is more the PP not the disk.
There is a bit of chatter here and there, but none for the most part. One can avoid chatter just by giving it some more revs on take off anyhow.
It won't work with an auto tranny anyhow

Im using an exedy stage one right now. Really never saw any slippage but my tranny is comin out and i kinda wanna upgrade.
I went to clutchnet's website and there is the yellow version, red version. The Red PP's come in 2x and 3x and the disk Im getting is going to be the 6 puck sprung hub because people that i have been talking to have told me it doesnt chatter and is smooth. I think the 2X PP is the correct one.

Oh I didn't think we were running that much boost that day we smashed that C5 while your clutch was slipping. I guess it wasn't as long ago as I thought it was.
