Who is using an oil restrictor?

Is it better to use one for the oil feed to the turbo? I read on the sr forums - "Unrestricted oil flow will blow through the turbo oil seals and coat the insides of your intercooler pipes. A turbo only needs like 10psi of oil pressure at the most." Is this true? What's the stock oil pressure on our engine?

I see about 50 psi cruising, anywhere between 70 to 100 psi at redline (depending on how heat-soaked the engine is).

Re: Who is using an oil restrictor?

There are seals (I always forget what they are called) on the turbo you have that prevent leakage. It is even possible to run oil through it horizontally or even slightly upwards with that kind of pressure and it won't leak. It really depends on the type of turbo you use. Some diesel turbos do not have these seals and certain brands such as TEC do not have these seals as standard.

If you really want to put something in, you might want to consider a small filter. I have heard that Turboetics has them now but I have never seen one.
