A flat/satin finish would look nice, it would offset the gloss color on the car.

Wow I haven't seen you post in here in a long time. Though IA is a different story. They don't really sell lead based paints anymore, but I can get nearly every color ever made lol. You just need to know the paint code or what color it is and pick it out from my paint chip book.

Edited 1st post with a price list.

Sounds good and it's do able. Just costs a little more since I would need 2 colors and is included in my price list. What colors did you have in mind? Or you can stop by and look @ the color chip book to decide.

Really? I would have thought that with the correct mixture of clear and reducer you'd get an flat or eggshell type of finish.

Flat clear is a separate type of clear, but it's really subtle gloss. There's flat black and then there's satin black. It's like hardly a difference. It just depends on the person if they're picky or not.

With regular clear (glossy) you can't really reduce it too much or it will run easily when you spray. It'll still be glossy too, and flat clear is actually more expensive than regular clear.

The picture with Jeff's wheel before clear I would say it resembles a satin finish. The slight bit of gloss picks up light on the curves of the wheel.

Satin Black

Flat Black

you have flat clear.Did the se-r get flat clear? I mainly assume the flat clear is to preserve the flat black appearance so with that in mind do you have a regular clear? that will make the wheel glossy?

At the moment I don't have flat clear, but I can order it. The SE-R wheel was just painted with black base and when it dried I thought it looked nice. That maybe Jeff or someone who wanted a flat black could get an idea of what it looked like.

I would recommend a flat clear over the base to protect the finish if someone wants anything flat.

Yep I have hi-gloss clear. That's what I added after the black paint dried so that Jeff's wheel turned out super shiny.
