need some system advice

ok guys, i'm not too knowledgeable about car audio systems, but in my 97 GLE I have the bose system and it's good and all, but i want some nice bass...now, i will have about $400-500 bucks over the summer to spend on some subs and an amp, and installation in that price...now, my questions are:

1) is the bose system easily upgradeable for adding in some subs?
2) i want either 2 10s or 2 12s...which would be better bang for the buck?
3) what brand, and and wattage and brand amp should i probably go with?
4) about how much can I expect installation to run me? and where would i be able to go?

so in a few words, I just need some help choosing out a system for some nice quality bass...i listen to a lotta rap, so i want the kick

thanks.
