Rears now clear, left the red markers in behind them
#1
Not sure if other folks have tried this, as no one has mentioned removing or retaining the the red rear side marker lights, but I kept them in my '99 with my clear corner enhancements.
Since the new lens extends all the way in front of the old side marker, I shaved 1/16" off the top of the brown plastic "frame" tha surrounds each red lens to provide clearance for the new lens. This is easily done with a utility knife after removing the red lens and frame. After trimming, a little 100/240 sandpaper smoothed the plastic. The work is not really critical as the new lens obscures/fuzzes it out and details are not seen from out side, so you don't have to measure with the micrometer.
Looks great. The red provides a _slight_ shadow that continues the stock line in the upper red lens down to the bottom like before. Otherwise, you don't really see it. At night, the red lights up and looks like it was the factory plan ie., it looks great.

I considered that
Since I have the side markers in the front, I thought it would look more balanced with them in the rear too. So, after a little internal debate with myself, I kept them.
