Brake Pads? What kind do I get and how much do I pay for them?

I pushed on my breaks really hard the other day and it sounded like it was scraping against the rotors. Rotors look fine, but is there a warning when the brake pads are about to go out? When I owned a honda, the brakes would make a sound when they were about to go out... Anyway, I'm getting them changed tomorrow and what should I get and how much should I pay for them? Thanks in advance...

Thanks Y2Kev and RcticMax for the info.. I need to get them changed out tomorrow, otherwise I'll be replacing the rotors as well... Hmmmm good excuse to tell the wife.. Na too much $$$$.. What if I go to a brake shop? What kind should I get then?

Wish I could help. Haven't been to a brake shop in years (leased vehicles and worrying about beating on them too much and having to face the inspector at the end... $$$).

If you get non-Nissan brake pads there is a good chance Nissan will void your warranty on the brakes, in which case if your rotors warp you will have to pay. Thats what happened to me.
