Fluid swishing sound thru Eng at Idle

Does any one have any ideas on what this could be. I have a fuid swishing noise run through eng at idle when I press on the gas. Checked coolant level is low in over flow but full in radiator. Do I need to flush and refill? Also my heat isn't working well. Could this be connected and could it clear up with a flush of the system.

Also can someone tell me about problems with the heater core and what to have checked to get heat working better?

Thanks

the problem is that you've got an air pocket in your cooling system... the noise is the water flushing through the heater core and the intake manifold (since they're the highest points in the cooling system).

there's a bleeder screw on the top of the engine for this.

start the car when it's cold/cool and remove that screw. let the car run until it warms up and you'll see coolant with bubbles and stuff oozing out of it. when it gets to where it's flowing only coolant- no bubbles, then put the screw back in and top of your reservoir.

here's a pic of the screw off my FAQ page:

Thanks

Thanks a lot. Do you think my heat will work better once these air bubles are out or is the an unconnected problem?

Thanks again.

yup.. much better.. there's also air/coolant splashing around in your heater core. get the air out of the system and it'll all work much better.
