I would imagine that this would work on an auto, but I'm not 100% sure, just 95% sure. Many auto guys have swapped their shift ***** with aftermarket ones. I had this installed on my 99 5spd Max with no issues.

As for the reverse lock out, do you drive a Supra or something?? lol Or do the 2002 Maxima's have reverse lockout? This shift **** does not have reverse lock out.

I would be interested if you could find out if it works with the reverse lockout. The 6 speeds have a reverse lockout. If you find out, let me know please.

Will it work with a 6 speed since we have a reverse lockout?

It should work for a 6 speed. My dad had an all silver momo **** just like this on his 02 3.5 maxima and had no problems with the reverse. If you have a shorter shifter then its questionable if it will work.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the reverse lock-out is a separate entity from the shift **** itself, so this should work for us 6-speeders.

The 6 speeds actually have something you have to pull up to get into reverse. Thats why the question of if this shift **** would work came up because if the shift **** sits too low the part you pull up would hit the shift ****. But 5 speeds dont have this.
