other potential causes:
pcv valve
clogged fuel filter
bad fuel pressure regulator
improper ignition timing
injector ohmage out of spec
injector o-rings leaking
exhaust leak/broken studs
whacked-out o2 sensor
clogged/electrically shorted IACV

I don't see your video anywhere?
i'm going to nitpick you. just b/c i'm watching the discovery channel and have nothing better to do.

it's dark outside.... i was suggesting an.. "addendum" by the tampon maxipad, er, tampamaximus
but i wanted to make a video of the proper(ish) VG idle and revving a little, from both engine bay and tailpipe for rmdl51

Has there ever been an instance on these forums when the engine ran bad and a fuel filter replacement fixed the issue?
I'll admit I havent read every single post, but still something should've come up by now. Usually replacing the fuel filter is followed by dissapointment in the lack of improvement, and then injector work or fuel pump work.

yeah. vg... veggie... vee gee... whatever you say, its all the same. but thank god my engine isn't a vegetable. its more of a beef product(ground chuck, mebe? not the best cut, but still yummy.).
Tampamaximus:
thank you for this video. itll help save a few (quite a few) questions about all sorts of crap.
(side note: i ran around with the vacuum lines running to the canister above the tranny disconnected for about 6 months b/c i couldn't figure out where they went. huge improvement in performance after fixing it.)

I honestly think any fuel filter talk is just urban legend.

No need for dusty place - just dumb behavior or bad luck... Fuel filter is a valid replacement item along with thousands other nuances to check. However, only once during 3million miles I have had this filter problem / real swap need.
Potentially, just one fillup can even stop the car ... after few miles from the fillup station. Or later, in any time of vehicle life span. Luckily, more often clog just doesn't happen. My statistics calculation show that I am only 0.0001 wor$e off as I never change the filter. However, If I was responsible for a fleet, this periodic swap would be mandatory.
A filter clog can become in any station after the tanker truck has filled the underground reservoirs... The filling causes the underground tanks bottom sludge & water to be circulated, pumped into your car tank = Keep out for 2days - if you see the tanker...
The video is good disney show to name a few VG parts -IF- the blondie gets hood open. In troubleshooting its value is negative.
