Racingline Y pipe teaser
Well we had the testing done today for the Manual version of the y pipe, the sample piece had a few minor modifications to be made but for testing purposes it was fine, That said here's the dyno chart.
Test car was an 05SE Max 6spd, with CAI, and UDP. thats it!!
baseline 224.17whp / 227.05wtq
ypipe installed 236.37whp / 240.55wtq
GAINS 12.2hp / 13.5tq
I'll get more pics later as the ones I took didn't turn out that great, but there was another camera that has some pics on it. I just need to wait for them to be emailed to me.
thoughts, questions and comments welcome.

The design is basically a clone of the old CE pipe but it has been cleaned up some with a better lined flex, better welds, and smoother transitions.
Auto test fitting was postponed to next week

Since we are on this topic,
Obviously I'd like to eventually do headers and a Y-pipe. Is there anything else in the exhaust I should be replacing for performance? Taz, are you releasing any other items for the exhaust? Maybe a downpipe?

Do you have the DRF's?
I asked for them but I forgot to bring a USB key with me to dump them on. When the Auto will be getting done Ill ask TAZ to have the shop dump the files on to a mem key.

READ 1st post.
Technically the car has a brand new engine also, if you can consider that a mod. 55K kilometers on car when motor was replaced, now it has 57K.
On older cars you should see more of a gain due to the stock cats being all plugged up and junk.

Actually what I'm saying is CE had a great setup and it definitely wasn't their Y-pipe that put them out of business, Taz did this right and I'm glad he adapted this flow pattern, IMO for a Y-pipe it's the best, more direct!!! You'll loose a little on the low end because it's less restrictive but in the 3000-6000rpm range she will perform like a real B!TCH, and thats a good thing!!!

My CE Y-Pipe had a bung for the 02 sensor, if Taz are based on a similar (and IMO) best design, he may have had one also, if not, any exhaust shop can do it and you can read AFR after the precats.

Cant speak for the Dyno number for the auto but i gather they should be almost the same except the 20% loss in the tranny instead of the 17%.

How does aluminium rust? No its weird, last time I was at the track was a friggin hot day, and they changed color from a flat black to a burgundy reddish thing. I checked them carefully and its weird I'm not sure how that happened i guess from all the excessive heat during breaking and the hot day. They work flawlessly and I are flush and true. So im not too concerned about them.

I haven't noticed it in a long time, so not really. Even if it does, Cattman has said he'll replace the Y-Pipe with a non-whistling revision for me free. The whistling is a non-issue with all current models...

Perhaps a dumb question - are y pipes street legal? Would I have to replace the stock y pipe for inspections every year or for smog checks? I believe our cars have 2 precats, but then is the other cat in the stock y-pipe, or am I way off here? If this is street legal, seems like an easy/cheap way to gain a good amount of horsepower... Problem is that in NC, I have to get inspected every year...
