Lexus Metal Tensioner Pulley Part Number & Pic

For you SC guys that were asking. This makes for a great reduction in belt shredding issues and an increased margin of error for belt alignment...

You do actually need to stack up washers inside the pulley in order to bring the nut to an accessible position. No special bolt needed. You only need the pulley and a few washers. In some cases you may have to stack a washer or two behind the pulley as well so it clears everything. Just use your best judgement on it, and you'll be fine. Post up any questions, those who have it can answer and clear up a few things about using this pulley.

And no problems wit adding it to the stickies...good stuff.

You guys know better than to rely on a linked picture as the sole source of the part number.

This is for that guy who is searching in 4 years from now and only sees a red X in TJ's post #1:

Toyota "Idler Sub Assy" 13503-5011

cause you are the few who monitors the belt. i never had an issue either but this is for the less fortunate, lol. with this pulley there is a lot of slack that is not tolerable wih the ribbed version.

Monitor what? When you say "ribbed version", do you mean "walled version"?

yeh it's the stillen pulley with sidewalls, i believe is the correct wording. this is going on my 8th yr owning, installing and working with the stillen sc. many of my friends have the dreaded belt issue, but i have been very lucky, because as i said i monitor the belt almost every other time i drive it. by that i mean i check the belt for flexing and buckling when gas is applied. in the cold it is very important not to go into boost ,especially in the northern section where it can get very cold. also boosting puts a lot of stress on the tensioner and over a time period can become loose causing the belt to ride a rib and break. every now and then i retighten the tensioner to avoid that problem.

Tried Metal Idler Pulley.. but too big

I gave this part number to the toyota dealership and they had to do a cross reference. They sold me a puley that looks like the one in the picture, but when I tried to put it on, it was so big that it was rubbing up against the hose that runs to the radiator. I have a V2 bracket (probably guessed that, if I had a v1 I probably wouldn't be having alignment problems.) WHAT IS THE DIAMETER OF THE PULLY IN THE PICTURE?
So I can double check that they sold me the corrct pulley. Thanks Guys!

they discontinued that pulley, the new one is slightly larger than the old one. but a new one was found, thanks to secondtonone's initial investigation and big d's find from nycmax.

part # 450-8920

The pulley is from a 1993-1997 Infiniti J30 TIMING IDLER

they discontinued the old ones, the new ones are slighlty bigger and causing some rubbing issues. if you have the old one just go to any part store or dealer and have them match up the size, i have a friend who did that. i dont knonw if this guy still makes them but he use to make them for us. lee 1 877 928 8675
