my 1999 max with factory keyless entry used to make the parking lights flash then one day only the lights on one side of the car would flash now none of them do the doors lock and unlock and i replaed the batteries thinking the signal was too weak to flash the lights. has anyone had a similar problem???

you have a short on the module itself. the remote has nothing to do with it. It will either get the signal from the romote or not. Locate the module and check the wiring, relays... etc

did you replace the battery? I had that problem before...replaced the battery and it killed the remote. Bought a used one on ebay and reprogrammed it.

check the fuses first.
