Lookin for a full exhaust

Within the next couple months I plan on having my entire exhaust system changed. I know for sure im getting headers and a high flow cat, but i dont know what to get for my catback. should i straight pipe it from my cat or headers? whats the best catback in yalls opinions?

best catback is greddy sp2... not because its better performing but because the sound is awesome!

unless your boosted there is no point in headers and a high flow cat. they may (if its good enough) gain 1 to 3 hp and for the price of a good one (there are very few good ones) its just not worth it - UNLESS YOUR BOOSTED.

mufflers only choose the sound and usually have NO performance gains for the maxima. the b-pipe and y-pipe are the only increase in performance, the y-pipe quite a bit more than a b-pipe.

if you would like some more info other than this check out...

Information
Short headers are good for about 3-5hp.
1995-1999 Maxima
Stone Racing Maxima Short Headers
Description: Build quality looks decent, but the HP gains are questionable due to the fact that there are no dyno numbers comparing the short headers alone to an aftermarket Y-pipe alone. So no one knows just how much only the headers make. Probably good for only about 3hp on a N/A maxima. There where some fitment issues with the prototype, but they have said to have been fixed. Installation should be about 6-10 hours of hard labor.
Cheapest Price: $300 from http://www.vqpower.com/images/headers/headers2.php
is 3hp good for 300$?

or....

600$ for a y-pipe and headers for 17hp gain? thats really outragious if you ask me, but hey i might be cheap. expect to pay more money for better stuff.

but if your looking for any kind of gain and have the money then go for it. it will make things alot louder from what i have heard, so choose a good muffler that will quite things down.

go with a y-pipe first. I have the cattman and I love it. I also have it paired up with the greddy sp2 and it sounds great. No it's not loud unless you want it to be.

"Stone Racing Maxima Short Headers" are garbage. Go for hotshot or cattman for gains, and the exhaust note will be very nice because of the equal length runners. These setups give gains beyond a y-pipe
So.. yes.. get headers if you have the money, i would

my plan is too buy headers for sure. plus within a few months after that itll be supercharged. and i dont mind how loud it is, as long as it sounds really deep and good. what are yalls thoughts on straight piping from my headers or cat?

first and formost.... i you get a y pipe the exhaust is gonna be louder and drownier... what i would recommed is getting the greddy cat back.. i had a custom one buit and now i wish i got the greddy... if ur gonna piece it together make sure u have a large resonator and a large muffler prefarably the size of a stock one...
