Just so you remember, LSD sucks in the snow. Had a '91 Sentra SE-R w/ LSD and couldn't keep it on the road. Just spins both front wheels all the time unless you have great snow tires. Maxima is heavier, so that should help, although the tires are slightly larger too so it might even out. Food for thought.

A total remanufactured left axle assembly is $77.00 or a new one for $118.00 based on online searches. I have not run into anything about other seals...yet. Anyone can jump in here and help. I am going to make this swap since my original trans just slipped away at 218K...if you know what I mean. I am looking for an Infiniti LSD trans now. I will just drive my beater truck until I find one. I have found 3 JDM LSD trans locally through an importer, but I have not determined if there are any hidden surprises going that route. I have emails into them right now for the ECU, TCU, mechanical, electrical, wire connector, differences to do this. As someone else indicated, I am being a pioneer here....I am just gellin like Magellan!

What are you trying to do ? You only need the tranny and the axle.

There is a local JDM importer near me with several LSD trans. Unfortunately, they have been a bit short on info. They were not even aware that the left axle was different so I am trying to get more accurate information from this group. There is a considerable amount of time and money involved in changing this. I want to be sure I have compatible parts. Wouldn't you?

i have a 95 fed maxima. My auto tran got screwed when the axle popped out. destroyed 1/3 or more of the tooth. Had to use a dremmel to carve the tooth so that I can put an axle in. Took 6 hours pounding it in. If all the tooth wears out...I'm gonna do this. Hope you document it!
