Coil Pack testing
I did search and came up with both yes and no. Can u really test our coils with a ohmmeter. I have a actron CP7677. I'm having a little trouble doing the test. Can anyone help me. I have no CEL but at a stop i can feel a slight miss. Thats why i think a Coil can be going bad.

in my opinion, however, this is not a conclusive test. if the transistor is indeed shorted, then the coil is definitely bad - but just because it is not 0ohm doesn't mean the coil is good. there are many other intermittent failure modes possible with an electronic component such as this.

u could always have the car running and unplug one at a time and see which one doesnt change idle....its best to shut the car off in between though and jsut try to remember how it was idling witht hem all plugged in and the 1 unplugged.

i did the test using the method in the HOW TOs and it worked, but it only worked when they were hot or warm...the cold ones i had in my storage room tested wrong, but when i put then on and ran them a few miles, they tested out to be fine.....
