throttle cable slack
#2
there is only one throttle cable, the other is cruise control. i tightened the slack out of mine shortly after i got the car. just use a 14mm open ended wrench but i would not suggest adjusting the cruise control stuff. some people have warned that tightening too much can make it snap but i have had no issues as of 75k miles.

what would tightening do for the drive? and when you adjust the slack, between the nuts and where it wraps over the pulley thing, wouldnt that make the pedal more loose because youd be putting more cable towards that direction? Sorry its hard to explain.

you want to loosen one side of the nut and unspin the other and pull it toward the direction of the battery. it felt as though it made the reaction for the acceleration quicker.

i get HOW you do it but i just dont get like.. when you make it tought on the throttle body end, then there will be excess cable on the opposite side of the nuts, leading to the pedal? wouldn't that mean there would still be slack?

see what I mean?

mine is tightened down all the way and has not affected my idle. however i have adjusted one on a pathfinder and the idle was irratic, i assume because it affected the position of the butterfly in the TB.

I actually did tighten it up a little to see if I could squeeze a little extra response out of it, but it raised the idle out of my comfort zone. Me likes to be within the comfort zone. (Okay, shut up) I'm sorry. (your an idiot) Dammit, I did it again...
