Thumping Noise in Driveline problem

I'm getting a thumping noise somewhere in the driveline. It is actually more something I can feel in the gas pedal. It is definitely speed sensitive.

It happens mainly when I accelerate slightly from a steady speed. For example, 3rd gear 2500 rpms and I'm just cruising at that speed when I slightly accelerate - I can then feel the thump in the gas pedal. If I accelerate hard - I don't feel it. I can also feel it at higher crusing speeds in 5th gear.

Just yesterday, I discovered that if I just let 2nd gear winddown without pushing in the clutch, I get the thump the worst. And it does feel like it is coming from the drivers side where the transmission is located.

Checked the tranny fluid - it's full. Did not drain and look for metal particles.

My first guess is that it is related to the tranny, but I guess it could be a CV or wheel bearing. It almost feels like the axle is slipping in the tranny.

Any thoughts? (101k on 2k)

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me. Might want to check for excessive play at all four wheels. I've never had to replace a front one, but I've had to replace 3 in the rear (one side twice).
Good luck!

Thanks - If anything it must be the front bearing.
