Drives weird while engine is cold... anyone else have this problem?

Hey, I have a 95 auto, and whenever the engine is cold and I drive it, i'll gently press the gas and the the RPM's will fluxuate. Like I'll apply a slight yet constant pressure to the gas pedal and it'll rev up and down and up and down very slightly; and just drives really jerky until the engine warms up completely. it'll shift very hard and just drives really badly. Is this normal? Anyone else have this happen?

Mine kinda does that. It has a rough 1-2 shift in the mornings. And there is a weird "wookie" style vibration in the brake pedal that all goes away when it warms up. I live in arizona so it doesn't get that cold. We could have the same problem but the lower temps make it more pronounced on your car?

yea might be. I was wondering if anyone in a colder region has this problem. If its something wrong with my car that I should get fixed or if it's normal. I don't like it, it feels like im messin up the car by drivin it when its like that.

Hey man, I live in Chicago, and my car does similiar things when cold (95 auto SE). When you rev, the revs will drop quicker, which makes it fluctuate. Not sure what causes it, but I'm pretty sure it's normal. Just be glad that it's not doing that when normal temp

I live in New Jersey and no matter what time of year it is. My 95 SE with an AT always shifted hard into second ever since I got it. Took it to stealorship and they said it's fine. I still don't think it's right

it's perfectly normal. my camry v6 xle wouldn't shift to the highest gear when it was cold to keep the rpms up ----> warm up faster.

would you say it crosses the bounds from hard shifts to power surges and losses?
