Gauging Interest: FS: V1 S/C Plate

Ok here is the deal. I want to see if there is an interest in this first before I go and have them made.

It will be a Perfect V1 Plate, a replica of the one made by stillen. The welds will be perfect, along with coming with a Idler Pulley and a Thermostat Housing so you can run this plate with a V2 blower with NO problems.

This is just an idea and I want to gauge interest in this before I go and get prices done up. I know people would order them, and possibly make their own s/c kit, and that is definetly an option.

The plate will be perfect, and made with exactly what Stillen used when they made the V1 plate.

Once I see if there is any Solid Interest, I obviously cant just have 1 made...there needs to be an interest of at least 10 guys then ill take a payment and have them made. I was thinking about a week turn around before I could send the Plate out to you...that time period is not a definate.. I will get pricing together, a couple few made first, and Tons of Pictures...

Any questions you can PM me any time

This will allow people to Run the V1 Plate without shredded belts, or any melted pulley's...A perfect running SuperCharger.

V1 Plate

Matt-
I'm "interested" in such a plate, but the real question is, "How much?"
To be facetious, you'd be swamped with orders if they were only $10; and you might not get any takers at $1,000!
If you can get an estimated price range (e.g., $250 to $350) from a reliable source, you can narrow down the number of interesteds. Then all you have to do is separate out the wishful thinkers from the guys who can actually come up with the buck$.
BTW, was that info I sent you of any help in sorting out your surge problem?

I wonder if there may be legal difficulties with Stillen if you make an exact replica.

Are 'shredded belts' and/or 'melted pullies' really that big of a probem???

I might be interested, but wouldn't we need the modified thermostat housing made as well?

As for the stillen legality, just etch matty inc into the plate.

You know what I meant. Not 'big problem' as in "when it happens, is it a big problem?". I meant big problem as in "does this actually happen to enough V2 owner's to consider it a big problem?". I've never had a shredded belt. In other words, what percentage of V2 owner's does this affect? I'm guessing less than 10%. Am I wrong?

you get a shredded belt when you don't install it correctly.

The v2 plate is just more tempermental.

It also incorporates an Extra pulley, and the Plate itself is Aluminum...so when you run a lower pulley for more boost, flex can happen...that is a cause of some belt shredding as well

What else would be needed for a "kit"? The blower itself, a few oil lines and fuel management of some sort?

would powdercoating be an option? I know not to have any where the mounting points are, but my plate is painted black right now.

I'm just thinking of some options guys.

Matty, see if you can get a price.

After pricing Im going to see about an option of Powdercoating and Polished depending on the interest of this. Alot of guys are PM me and posting here so this does seem like it will be worth it. Im waiting for my computer back from JWT, then ill be driving down to get a price from him...if i get more interest by then, my blower will be coming off to start these

I'm interested, as long as the plate can fit a 2k1 and if the price is right. I already called Vortech sometimes ago and they agree to sell me the blower so I can make my own set-up. Vortech was asking me 1500$ for the S/C.

Cheers

I was thinking since you are going to make the plate. Make sure you provide enough clearance for smaller pulley sizes.

Its cool, I know that the max is extra curricular and that other things take precedent. I would just like to have the v1. I notice the other day that my s/c is jumping a rib, so I am planning on swapping my pullies asap and would like to integrate the new plate at the same time. Thanks for trying to get this done!
