9004 blows unless its just the regular stock bulb. The silverstars are white but they only last about a month. I got a set of retrofitted h.i.d.s compelete with everything for 500 if you're interested.

PIAA xtreme white, or Sylvania silverstars. I've heard of Sylvanias burning out faster, but you can buy 3 pairs for the same price as 1 pair of PIAA's. I run Sylvanias.

Sylvania's run for 180 hrs. This is typically 3-4 months. I've had my Piaa's in for 1.5 years now or approximately 30,000 miles. Also there have been stories that the Sylvania's explode in the headlight housing. Thereby creating a big PITA.

Go with the PIAA's they are the best out there for 9004's. Xtreme White is white but they still have a slight blue tint to them (might not be noticable to most people). Super Platinums are the whitest.

I haven't tried the 9007 mod yet but I've been hearing good things about it, and it looks fairly easy to DIY. You might want to try that out, but be sure you check the light angle after install. You dont want to blind everyone else on the road.

how would you mess up the light angle by just changing the type of bulb used? all you are doing is taking out the 9004 harness and replacing it with a 9007. its just brighter. My silverstars work great and are really bright white. Although mine are 9005/9006 id assume they are about the same whiteness/brightness.

what kind of clear corner bulbs do you have? led? they would probably match well.

Bulbs explode because people touch them with their oily fingers. I change my bulbs every year regardless if they blow or not. All bulbs tend to dim over time.

The filliment axis is completely different from the 9004 to 9007 bulbs and it does indeed change the light angle. Guys who convert to 9007 need to point their headlights down to correct the angle.

The high beam output is also effected, the angle is not correct and basically leaves you with high beams that do little in terms of lighting up the area in front of you. They work, but the focus is lost.

Those are the two main reasons I'm not doing that conversion.

i have a Nokya Harness for the 9004's already... so this should be really easy for me to turn mine into 9007's... Anyone know where to get the Harness for that?

This is exactly why I recommend those who do a 9004 to 9007 conversion to just turn the bulb so that the HB filament is located lower than the LB filament. This in effect would allow you to utilize the 65watt HB as your lowbeam and swap the HB and LB wires so you're turn signal won't be in the forward position all the time. This way you can at least get whiter lighting, and you'll still get crappy HB performance.

Very good points, but I think they still light up the road better high or low beam. I drive both car and I cant see jack with the OEM set up. They still suck either way really.

I have been running with that setup for a couple of years.. They dont appear to be any brighter than stock and the HighBeam sux.. either that or my lights arnt aim'ed right? I dont really use highbeams much around here.. all the roads are lit pretty well.

But yeah i have the Nokya Arctic White Stage II and the Nokya harness for 9004.. I like them but i want something brighter.

You should just get HID kit its the best thing ever,before the HID i had my white bulbs in i went to upstate NY i could not see **** with those white bulbs so heres my experiece with regular bulbs

I wouldn't recommend them. They look nice for the oncoming traffic, but you really can't see at all in the rain. You're basically driving judging by the reflectors on the ground and signs. I had a few close calls in this construction zone around my school. curbs were popping out of nowhere, felt like I was playing frogger in the rain. I only got them because one of my stocks blew and the $30 deal I got for the bulbs and harness. once these burn out, I'll go hid.

Anyone recommend any reasonable priced HID kits? Yeah i wouldnt really recommend them either if your looking for something bright. They look great.. but arnt bright enough for me really. I dont live in the country or anything so i do fine with them but i want to upgrade to something better also.
