Brakes?

When I brake I can hear a noise. It is before I completly stop. It doesn't grind just when I start to slow down I can hear something like a thump. Does anyone know what this is?

thump? does it sound anything like metal to metal? if so, its your brake pads.

Has your car ever undergone major work, like removal of the suspension, subframe, engine or tranny mounts? Sounds like the sourt of thing I'd expect with some major component being slightly loose and shifting as the load changes significantly.

My right rear caliper pistons stuck, and it wore down the brakes pretty quickly on that side...It was squealing long before the rest.

rear caliper

My right rear caliper iss stuck too. The seal that covers the piston wore away. I was looking into replacement calipers and Nissan charges $385. while i can get a replacement at Autozone for $55.00 Any thoughts? I figured since its the rear it shouldnt matter that much whether its a nissan caliper or aftermarket one from autozone.???
