Do you guys think this is a good deal?

i found a 02 Nissan Maxima Se going for $16999....it's auto with around 22k and has blue exterior....the car has every option like heated seats, p-snrf, etc...except for leather...now i currenty have a 00 Se with all the option including leather and they quote me over the phone that i should get around at most 12k for trade-in...if that's the case i can finance the 5k and should be buy off within a year...you guys think i should go for it? below is what i came up with in terms of pros and cons:

Pros:
1. VQ35
2. Hid's
3. Blue exterior (My favorite color on a car)
4. Existing factory warranty
5. Low mileage

Cons:
1. Car isn't lowered which my 00 Se is...
2. Won't have money to mod in a while like intake, y-pipe, supension, etc..
3. No leather (I can live with that)

I don't think those are cons! I don't like lowering, you can save money and leather is overrated. Check the car over and as long as the tranny is tight you should be ok. There isn't any mileage on the car. Is the car straight? Never been in an accident? Run the VIN.

Think of it this way, if you'll put that $5,000 in your car and compare to this 02 Max, which one would you want?

Get the 2k2. Do you have your old suspension? The springs will work on the 2k2. The power difference between the 2k and 2k2 is 33hp. Can you get 33hp with a Y and intake? The only real benefit of keeping the 2k is that you can add a S/C.

I don't think you'll get $12k for your trade, but good luck. And the price seems a bit high. I got my 2K2 SE 2 years ago in Feb for that price.

Save your money and keep the 00. Buying another car only 2 years after having the 00 will cost you in depreciation. Imagine the profits you could make from investing the 5K. Its all up to you, but the question is: is it really worth it?

semy2k2go,
i already went to the dealership and they already apraise my car and said they would give me 12k on trade-in....and 5k in difference is nothing for me to pay off....i'm just thinking if i should go ahead with it since my 2k is already paid off and all...

I don't see the need for heated seats with cloth since they change to your body temperature much faster than leather does.
