Just Got a 95' Maxima SE....What to do first??

I just bought a 95' Maxima SE 5-speed Super Black with the "Gold Package"

I would like some imput as far as what to do first, and also, what other 4th gen car parts are direct replacement, or very minor modification to get to work. Also, any mods such as Hybrid intakes, or other MacGuyver tricks are always welcome.

And yes, i did read the 4th Gen FAQ thread, but it seems that some peeps say things work, and others say they do not. So, if you have a 95' or 96' with 97' headlights, front grill, or tail lights, post me some pics, and tell me how to do it.

Thanks in advance guys.

Yes! Definately the chrome emblems, or better yet, shave off all the emblem all togethet . The first modification i would do if i was you, and the first mod that I did, was get the clear corners for the front bumper lights. It makes a big difference. If you want some ideas, check out my 95 Max at www.cardomain.com/id/chpnemax. Good luck buddy!

Look in sig pic for 97+ grille and headlights and corner lights. The lights fit on there without modification but on the grille, I had to cut off 1/4 of a inch on the grille posts.

as seeing as that im not black, i guess that i could take them off, besides, I saw the slick gutter guard + spray chrome in the can mod. Need that 97 Max grill to really pull it off. see mod here:
http://maxima.cardomain.com/member_p...=200625&page=2

yeah, i guess i need to go chrome if i want any bling from those wheel at some point, that gold and chrome just dont go too well.

change all the fluids and filters in your car no matter what mileage. No guarantees on how the car was maintained when buying a used vehicle.

I put 99 headlights in my 95. Direct fit. I kept the corners because i like them better than the 99 corners. Also kept the grill too.

definetly pick up diamond cut right away, change to some hyperwhite headlights for $10.

jump on an intake or budget y-pipe for performance, then progress RSB for suspension. spend another good $20 on FSTB from ebay will also give you a quick handling aid. that's about $400 or so right there.

Hmmm, I wonder who told you that. If you look around if we are sitting on anything, we are sitting on chrome. No, brothers do not prefer the gold package. Yea I'm a "brother".

aiight.....

So shave the emblems.

Front upgrade to 97' lights + grille with the gutter guard mod.

Diamond cut turns.

CAI induction or Hybrid with Heat Shield?

As far as taillights, recommendations? I'm not sure how the Altezz Euro's will look on there. Anyone have a black 95' or 96' with them on it?

Sorry for the Gold Package Crack, My friend who is a "brother" said that jokingly. And yes, he as platinum up in his grille and rides on some chrome dubs on his honda. They don't prefer gold on the car. Only on Caddies he said.

altezzas =

get red/clears if you can find them/have them made.

might take a little longer as they're a bit more rare for 95/96, but it's worth the wait.

Drop resistor mod?? what is that?

And yes, i need to lower it, but $$$ is a big issue.

Also, is there a tent that can be done to my windows that act like the eye glasses that turn dark when in daylight, and then turn clear when in less light, you know, the vis-a-tent lenses?

do an intake and y-pipe and kill the 4x4 mode. oh yea, some DC clear corners and a nice clean CustomMaxima.com FSTB.

forget "clear lenses" and "hyperwhite crap". cone filter - $20. (spend an hour, make a heatshield, and you have a good intake). shave everything that can be done w/o body work (pinstripes, rear emblems, moldings, etc) buy some high temp black or grey spray paint - $4 and make yourself some black housing headlights and cornerlights. buy some caliper paint - $4 paint your brake calipers. all these things can be done for cheap, all you gotta do is spend some time. it is the little things that set nicely done cars, and thrown together cars apart. oh yeah, dont forget to change fluids, and give it a nice bath and wax

Those are good suggestions, but i definately think that you shouldn't forget the clear corner mod. It just makes the modified Maxima. and, no, not all "brothers" want to sit on chrome. I prefer not to. i like JDM better

OMG! I am a n00b. What is 4X4 mode??

I think i will use the Hybrid intake mod: http://www.drwebdesign.com/mymaxima/upperintake.html
and then use the heat shield mod and add some reflective material on the engine side to further drop temps. Also, i have been told by several people that i should reset the ECU, and others have said there is no need. What do you think?

Also, is there a remote wire on the back of the Bose system??

I can get a signal from the actual rear speakers(after the Bose Amps) and run those as High imputs, but i need a remote. Im not going to do like my younger and dumber brother and run an amp without one. He is on his 3rd amp in 1 year.

Got $$?

Get an MEVI, JWT ECU with a 7000 rpm limitier, Cattman Headers, a B pipe with Resonator, and finally a 2000+ dual mode muffler. You'll have the baddest, most powerful, normally aspirated 4th gen out there. And it will still be a good ole reliable Maxima.

Of course we're talking about $2500 in mods At least I did the research for you

i like my metal gutter guard mesh grille on the 95 -96 style, i think it looks good... - I want to get it chromed! - also made lower grille inserts from another piece of GG. Look on my website below

For Looks - Diamond Cut Clear Corners - cheap on ebay and they look soooooooooooooo good. I need to take some new pics of my car - maybe after tint.

Window Tint(my next mod) and Maybe a 97 trunk with 3rd Gen Euro LED gunmetal or CarbonFiber Tails(expensive btu i think looks good)

Performance- Definately Ypipe and CAI - these were my biggest Mods besides audio (a personal must have) I just got the budget ypipe installed day before yesterday, each new day the card drives better and better. The CAI makes the max sound mean, or it did until i got the Ypipe now CAI doesnt growl as loud.

Platinum Plus tint next! - is 180$ reasonable with lifetime warranty?
